There were many Ricardo/Mertz feuds that were classic. What others do you remember besides these?:
"The Courtroom"- The Ricardos give the Mertzes a TV set, it blows up, Fred kicks in theirs and they end up in court. "Breaking the Lease"- The Mertzes offend the Ricardos when the Ricardos stay up too late singing and making other noise. Everything gets blown out of proportion and the feud snowballs. "No Children Allowed"- Little Ricky's crying disturbs the entire building. Ethel tells Mrs. Trumbull off and then brags about it over and over. Hard feelings surface until they all come together and see Mrs. Trumbull holding Little Ricky in the rocking chair. "Never Do Business With Friends"- The Ricardos sell the Mertzes a washing machine and all hell breaks loose. "Bonus Bucks"- Both couples claim a prize winning dollar bill and a fight begins. "The Diner"- The foursome foolishly invest in a diner and there is a division among the ranks. "California Here We Come"- Ethel overhears Ricky calling them the "tag-a-long Mertzes," and the Mertz' noses immediately go into the air. "Ricky Sells the Car"- Ricky buys train tickets back to New York and forgets about the Mertzes. Noses in the air again and Fred buys a motorcycle. "Little Ricky Learns to Play the Drums"- Days and nights of incessant drumming drive the Mertzes to want to evict the Ricardos and nullify the 99-year lease. "Lucy Does the Tango"- Ricky accuses Fred of being a chicken thief and the war begins. |

"The Ricardos are Interviewed" - The Mertzes pick a fight with the Ricardos so that they will move into a more glamorous apartment that the Mertzes think they deserve. A phone call from Ethel's Aunt Martha convinces Lucy the Mertzes had intended to get rid of them so they could rent their apartment to her; a call from "Mrs. Skyler" convinces the Mertzes that the Ricardos had intended to leave all along.

My personal favorite is the washing machine feud.

I really liked the Courtroom episode. I also liked the episode where Ethel and Lucy get into a fight and end up making up at the theatre. It was a touching episode.

That line just cracks me up when Lucy is shaking her head and practically screaming that line to Ethel after Ethel DELIBERATELY LIES abt how the whole washing machine fiasco came abt.BTW, how many times did Ethel lie like this? She lied abt the whole broken tv fiasco thing. She even went to court and lied. She exaggerated the whole thing. She lied to Mrs. Trumbell abt how they came into possession of the washing machine. Ethel practically did beg the Ricardos to let her have the machine. Ethel lied in New Mexico when they traveled to her hometown. She led the town to believe it was her who was going to be in a movie. What other times did she lie? |

Hmm, we just had a discussion about Ricky lying to Lucy about how he would be working all the time in Europe. Now it turns out Ethel is a liar, too. Mercy! And Lucy is hardly an Honest Abe. So is Fred the only honest one in the bunch?

Fred was brutally honest. He was the only one. The other three were deceitful. Remember Fred was the one to try and stop the girls from stealing John Wayne's footprints. He did get roped in to several other schemes, though. He was the one who wrote the note about Ricky getting the Hollywood job.
I do remember times when he went along with Ricky's (or Lucy's) schemes. After all, who was the voice of Mrs. Merriweather! |

Fred did go along with some schemes, so in fact, he is not so honest.
![]() I do remember though he DIDN'T or couldn't make that call abt the home show furniture. He admitted to Ricky he just couldn't do that, hence, Lucy did receive the actual call and won the furniture. |
