Default Russell Crowe To Play Stooge Moe?

Oscar-winner Russell Crowe is set to appear in the remake of 1930s classic The Three Stooges. Filmmakers Peter and Bobby Farrelly are bringing Curly, Moe and Larry back to the big screen - and are hoping to cast the Gladiator star in the role of Moe.

Speaking at the London premiere of his new movie The Heartbreak Kid, Bobby Farrelly revealed, "We'd love to have Russell Crowe play Moe. We need a powerful actor with huge screen presence. It's either got to be Russell or Benecio Del Toro."

Meanwhile Dumb and Dumber star Jeff Daniels is being considered to play fellow Stooge Larry.

Farrelly added, "We've written the script and we're ready to roll - it's just a case of waiting for the green light from producers. It's been a tricky one to get made.. but I'm confident it will. we're passionate about it."

I'm sure a lot of stars would love to slap Russell Crowe around if they had the chance.

Is this going to be a Biography of the Three Stooges or are they going to play them in a movie? If it's the later then it's going to suck.

I get the feeling it's not going to be a Biography. Which is just wrong! You don't remake the Stooges with different actors. You just don't. I'll bet Moe, Larry and Curly never thought they would be making new Three Stooges movies in the late 2000s, lol.

They've already done a biography they should leave well enough alone. I wonder who they have chosen or if they will have Curley or Shemp.

This sounds like just about the worst idea for a movie since "Boris and Natasha" came to the big screen

No one should touch the Three Stooges at all. They were geniuses and to even try and make a movie after all the fiascos we have seen over the years, is really a slap in the face to those three men who made many laugh.
