It has recently has been revealed that Edward Platt didn't die of a heart attack in 1974 --- but he committed suicide.

Platt died from suicide in 1974 after two previous attempts. He had undiagnosed depression and financial troubles. |

Thats news to me also, but, i can understand why it might not have been revealed at the time.....there was a much bigger taboo around suicide back then, it just wasnt talked about; plus, Im sure they wanted to save his family the public embarrassment.

I never knew that either. For many years, "heart attack" was the only information given anywhere. What a shame he didn't receive treatment---he was a guy who deserved to be happy.
