In a similar vein, a Jackie Gleason appreciation thread seems in order to.

He of course, will always be fondly remembered for his deft portrayal of the portly bus driver, who has a big mouth, and more poignantly, a big heart--especially for Alice (baby, you're the greatest!)

His facial mannerisms were remarkable. As someone who grew up in Miami, I also appreciated the Jackie Gleason show. As well as his performance in Gigot.

There was so much more to Jackie than met the eye, and I will always be grateful to him for all the joy and entertainment he brought me.

Jackie Gleason has brought a lot of laughter and joy to my family. My Grandpa was able to experience Jackie on a more personal and friendly level and always had nice memories of him. Watching Jackie I not only get the laughter and joy BUT also an instant memory of my Grandpa and for that I will always be a fan.

WOW! The Great One.. The Genius who is SIMPLY PUT The reason we are all on this honeymooners thread.. What more can you say.. The man has been gone for over 20 years.. and he still has our attention.. he is still bringing people together in laughter and friendship two decades later.. and what could be more of a mark left than that? Thank you Jackie.. It is because of you I am even reading or typing on this site.. It is because of you we have all become a little internet community.. it is because of you I have something to turn to everytime I feel sad.. We Love you.. Rest Easy...

Indeed, a man who brought us much joy and entertainment on the screen. One thing I hope I get the chance to do one day, is meet a TV/movie celebrity I admire & enjoy and get the chance to say to them "Your show and your portrayal of ........ brought me so much joy. Thank you for bringing so much joy to others."
