They think I might have appendicitis. I spent the evening in the emergency room with having a BUNCH of tests run. They released me last night...this morning technically, and said if it gets worse come back. The CT scan came back negative, but I was told appendicitis does not always show up on a ct scan. My white blood cell count was up, so they think it is either an intestinal infection or appendicitis.
So now, I am just laying around the house on a wait and see. Waiting to see if the pain gets worse, my fever spikes, or other symptoms pop up. Oh boy! Anybody else ever been diagnosed? D |

Yes and I hope you are lucky enough not to have it.
For me the tell tale sign was that when the doctor put pressure on my lower right abdomen it was sore... when he quickly released the presure I damn near hit the roof. In the medical world it is a pretty routine surgery, i the real world it still hurts quite a bit Good Luck Hope you are feeling better |

My brother-in-law had his removed in 2004. He was bloated, nauseous, and his right side was searing. Antacids and Pepto-Bismol didn't help, so he went to urgent care. My sister ended up driving him to the hospital after the urgent care doctor immediately suspected appendicitis. It was removed by arthroscope.
After the surgery, as they were wheeling my brother-in-law into the recovery room, he was still pretty doped up. He kept saying he wanted a room with a fireplace in it. ![]() In any case, I hope you find out what's wrong and then get better!! Keep us posted!

If I could get mine taken out voluntarily, I would. I have no desire to go thru this.
A girl I work with is friends with a couple that her husband works with. About 3-4 weeks ago, the couple's daughter was nausceous, feverish, etc. They thought flu. This was on a Wednesday. Come Saturday, she was in severe pain, but on the left side. Turns out her appendix had burst and she was riddled with gangrene. Shes had numerous surgeries, she's missing pieces of her colon, she isn't allowed to eat (all she ate for a week was 3 popcicles, one of which they made her puke back up), and she is stuck wearing a colostomy bag until at least Christmas. I don't personally know this girl, but I wouldn't wish that on anyone. |
