The thing I liked about Sanford & Son was how every ethnic, racial, nationality, etc. were insulted in the show (Au-Chu, Julio, Rallo, Goldstein, Hoppie, male, femaile, etc.). In this extremely politically correct age it's still nice to see where we can laugh at each other and others without it being taken so seriously. I'm white and it doesn't bother me when Fred made fun of or insulted whites. Fred made fun of other blacks, as well as anone who came in contact with him. These days people take themselves way too seriously! We need to be able to laugh at each other without somebody threatening to sue or scream for an apology. I don't condone hateful attacks or insults but my goodness this show was a comedy and everybody was insulted equally...

I agree, Sanford and Son was just enjoyable. It had that humour like most Norman Lear shows. BTW, welcome to the boards!

Thanks! I enjoy watching many of the 60's & 70's shows I grew up with. I hardly watch any new shows. Too much sex and tasteless jokes!

Same here!! The S&S humor was so un-PC it would never make it on the air today...thank goodness for DVDs! Welcome aboard!

I am agreeing whichooz. I am also white and I think Fred's prejudice towards whites is hilarious. Fred always says something totally racist and it makes racism look foolish while making us laugh.

I believe it was Swanny, because it was in the episode where Fred knocks over and breaks the glass and porcelain stack. It's also the one where Fred said "...you can't get a stocking over one of them naturals."
