It is Football Season again ! There are so many great sitcoms and other shows with a football-themed show. Help me think of as many as I can.

Brady Bunch: the classic Joe Namath episode

Brady Bunch: Greg gets hurt playing high school football

Brady Bunch: Peter meets Deacon Jones

Andy Griffith: former pro player Flip Conroy coaches Opie and conflicts with piano lessons

Leave it to Beaver: Beaver forms the "Lightning Eleven"

Married with Children: Al Bundy relives his high school days

Munsters: Herman punts the ball and hits Rams owner a mile away

Gomer Pyle: Gomer's buddy plays pro ball and he gets seats on the bench for Gomer and Sgt.Carter and Carter gets run over

There was an episode of Home Improvement (in the later seasons) where the gang goes to a Detroit Lions game on Thanksgiving or something. Even though this episode of Bob Newhart Show isn't really about football, the guys get tanked while watching a Thanksgiving college football game. (The drinking game states you have to take a drink when the opposing team scores. Needless to say, the opposing team scored A LOT in this case.

) This is the "moo goo goo" episode of BNS. Then there was an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond where Frank catches a football and refuses to give it back.

Okay...its not really a football based episode, but it has it in it :P

What's Happening: "Give Me The Odds"- Dwayne is able to keep picking football winners.

Everybody Loves Raymond: "Superbowl"- Ray gets to cover the Superbowl and must choose who to take with him.

Also on The Brady Bunch was the episode "Quarterback Sneak" in which Marcia dates the rival high school quarterback, Jerry Rogers.

On The Wonder Years there was the episode "Mom Wars" in which Norma forbid Kevin from playing football with his friends. There were other episodes involving football, but it was an afterthought.

Monika/catlover79, I remember that episode of Home Improvement that took place at the Detroit Lions game at the Pontiac Silverdome (pre Ford Field, mind you!). I remember the ads for Binford throughout the stadium. Tim did something that caused some of the lights on the field to go off--uh oh!

THE ODD COUPLE-there was an episode once where Felix was coaching his sons football team.

THE KING OF QUEENS-there was an episode once wher Doug took Arthur to a football game.
Another time, there was an episode where Ray Barone from EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND took Doug to a football game.

The absolute best football themed episode was the Bob Newhart Moo Shu Gai Pan episode. What was it - a swig for each fumble?

They had to take a swig every time the opposing team scored. It turned out to be, "a two jug game".

The whole episode is a classic - and made TV Guide's Top 10 of Most Memorable Episodes!

There's also one on Laverne and Shirley were the girls are going by plane to see a football game and the pilot gets knocked out. Then the girls have to fly the plane and they end up missing the game.
