Didn't the show do really well for the first few seasons? I think the ratings started to decline during the 5th season. And the ratings during the 6th season were an all time low for the series...Do you know why? Was there new competition? Did CBS change Maude's timeslot?

The last season was the only season not in the top 30. And the shows that Maude couldn't compete with these during the 1977-78 season was

Monday Night Football

Starsky and Hutch on Saturdays

And to help with this problem, CBS decides to dump most of the cast, and relocate Maude and Walter to Washington, D.C.???

Solomon, Wikipedia (though not the most reliable website) has a list of Maude's finishing ratings for each season. They say the final season finished off at #91. Do you know anything about this?

I wasn't saying you or your book was wrong, I'm just asking something....It seems funny that some ass**** would even say it was ranked #91 in 1978. I mean really, weren't there only 3 networks back then? Is it even possible that there were 91 shows on the air that season?

There were a 100 shows on the Air a season in the 1977-78 season. The last ranked show was Sanford Arms at #100
