Question Question

I have a question on posting fan fictions. If you type it on, say, MSWord and cut and paste to here or something does it end up where you have to scroll across to read the fan fic? Can you cut and paste something to here? I just get really annoyed when I have to scroll across to read every single line of a fan fic. Can someone please help? Thanks!

I wrote my latest one in word and copied and pasted it here. You don't have to scroll across to read it, I don't know, take a look at it. It's sort of lost and forgotten way down the list somewhere.

I have written three in word, cut and pasted over and never had the problem you're talking about. I agree that it is annoying.

TVAddict, I was just reading your fan fic "Leaving it Behind" and you have to scroll across for it. Is that because it was copied from word or because of some other reason? I am just very confused. Why do some fan fics come out one way and other fan fics come out another? Please help! Thanks.

Sorry, I meant that like, if you move it over a little, eliminating that bit of blank space to the left, you don't have to scroll across anymore because the text should fit right in your screen. The other story I wrote which is now WAY down the board, I did not cut and paste, so I don't think you had to scroll across at all for that one. But I honestly don't remember. As for this one, I did cut and paste from word.

One reason thet it does that is because people type really long words, for example, Write More!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See? If it didn't work, who cares, I just thought that that was the problem.

That's odd because the the scroll all across thing is in this thread in everybody's post who posted.

This is one of the things that TJ would probably know..because I have no clue.

Set your screens to a higher resolution, and the problem will go away.

I think BlairW_1 is on to something with her explanation. TJ explained a similar problem on the regular Facts board.

If you jot off a huge bunch of letters or symbols without a space then the computer that makes the board possible has *no idea* where to break up the text. So it doesn't -- and it stretches the window to fit the monster, collossal-size fake "word" and it will stay like that until enough posts have pushed the topic to another page.
