New book on Fred MacMurray to be released soon - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

A new biography on Fred MacMurray will be released in October. I'm the author and the book is titled, Fred MacMurray: A biography. The forword was written by Don Grady, Robbie on "My Three Sons." The book covers Fred's entire life and career. From his days growing up in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to his days as a sax player in a band. His movie career as the romantic lead of the 30's and 40's to his days as one of the key faces of the Disney studios of the 1960s. A full chapter is devoted to Fred's greatest film, "Double Indemnity." Also covered are Fred's two marriages (Lillian Lamonte and June Haver) and his reputation as, well, a cheapskate. Does he deserve it? Naturally the story of "My Three Sons" will be a big part of the book as well. Over 75 pictures are included.

I'm glad someone is writing about him. his life and career seem interesting to me. Since I was a young boy, I have always been a fan of his work on the tv show and his Disney movies. I hope your book is a success.

I also enjoyed his role as Claudette Colbert's husband in The Egg and I - very funny movie.

I had the opportunity to read the new book on Fred MacMurray. This is a very well written book on his life. There isn't a lot of dirt or anything to show Fred in a bad light. Just a straight foreward story on his life. Kudos to Mr. Transberg.

Sounds like an interesting read. He was one of Hollywood's great actors.
