Being that Universal is licensing the rights to Charles in Charge to TV Guide, will Universal still make any profits from the sale of CIC Season 2 and any other TV series that they farm to smaller, independent companies? Or, will the smaller companies make all the profits?

Good question! Hmmmm, my guess would be that the smaller company makes the profits. They are paying Universal a licensing fee. So, it makes sense that what they do with it makes them money. But I could be wrong about that.
Incidentally, I also e-mailed Joe at Art Alliance asking if Gimme a Break! is one of their aquisitions. Haven't heard anything yet though. If you're interested, send him an e-mail and let him know that you would like to see future seasons of GAB! on dvd as well. His e-mail address is: joe@artsallianceamerica.com. |

My guess is that Universal who still owns the show gets some percentage of the profits, or at least some type of licensing fee. I doubt any company would license out a show for free.
Robert13 thanks for the email address. I will also email Joe and ask about GAB. I wonder if Universal isn't licensing it out them if that means they have plans to release it themselves. Either way I MUST get more GAB soon! |

Either way, whether Universal FINALLY releases the remaining season sets of Gimme A Break or a smaller American company releases the sets, the will probably give VEI some serious competition, especially if there are extra features on the sets!

I got a response today from Joe. He said he was going to ask Universal about licensing Gimme a Break! So, I guess, they do not have it in their possession yet. No plans to release it so far. Hopefully, his request will be met with a resounding yes so we can get on with the rest of the series.
