This was a really popular show way back when. What happened? We need to get the next season on dvd. I hope Fox decides to release it. They are missing out on some huge sales if they back it with the right promotion.

Do you think the show will get revived on dvd? I'm thinking about acquiring the whole run of the show from a personal collector. I'm trying to hold out hope that the show will come back on dvd but I'm not sure if it will ever see completion. What do you think?

I'd like to see the whole series come out on dvd too. I bought S1 and have a few random episodes on vhs tapes but I'd certainly like to have it all on dvd.

I am also holding out hope for Season 2 (and beyond) to be released on DVD. I have them in order on VHS, but I am afraid my VCR will break --- what then? Would writing letters to Fox help?

Actually, I just got an idea last night from watching the bonus featurette on the dvd set. They were talking about when the show was initially cancelled and what it brought it back were letters...but not to the studio. Those get lost in a pile and the studio heads never see them. The effective way to get the message to Fox is by writing to the newspapers... New York Times, entertainment publications. I think that would help a great deal. What does everyone think?

Here are some e-mail addresses:
The New York Times executive-editor@nytimes.com managing-editor@nytimes.com thearts@nytimes.com Entertainment Weekly letters@ew.com People Magazine Editor@people.com Oprah click here http://www2.oprah.com/email/reach/em...ch_fromu.jhtml Variety VTCCustserv@cds-global.com Ms. Magazine (They ran a cover story on Cagney & Lacey in the 80s) Senior Editor Michele Kort - mkort@msmagazine.com That covers most of the bases. Let's all write and let them know that we want more Cagney and Lacey on dvd. Don't forget to tell them what a ground-breaking piece of TV history this is and it shouldn't go overlooked by Fox. |
