PLEASE ADVISE THE LATEST NEWS ON DVD COLLECTION - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Hi, brand new, first post, dying to get the AUTHENTIC dvd collection of all of the episodes.

Can someone advise when if ever this is supposed to happen?

Welcome to the boards!

In short, there are no plans to release TWY on DVD. The problem is due to the music rights on the show. Because there were so many songs used in the show, each individual musician/copyright holder would deserve payment.

However, from what I understand, TV rights are different than DVD rights. So, many people have been taping the show off the ION network (formerly Pax). There is a fair amount of editing (a couple minutes per episode, at least), but the basic storyline is there. And, for those who haven't seen the show in years, you have to accept it as better as nothing.

So, if you get ION, and can record the series, that is your best bet at this time.

Is there any site, associated to whoever is in charge and needs a kick in their a$$ to get the series onto dvd and just be done with it? Or a petition link...anything....how many xmas' have I gone through wanting this now????...

As I said man, it's not for lack of trying. It's simply music rights.

There are a couple DVDs available with select episodes on them. You can check amazon.com for those...

I honestly think we haven't seen any DVD releases because FOX simply isn't trying. If they really wanted to see this show released, all music possibly for clearing would have already been cleared. If TWY is gonna be out by the next 2 years, then FOX needs to get off their asses and work on it.
