Default MR IGGLES THOUGHTS ON EAGLES PACKERS GAME

Well let me first say that Like Solomon said, I am not feeling so hot this morning. The NFL off season is so long & all the hype for week 1 is the most wonderful thing. I never seem to remember from one season to the next just how miserable an eagles loss on a sunday makes me feel on a monday morning.

With that said here are my thoughts on the game:

I will start with the "positives", I know its only green bay but I was really impressed with the new look defense, particularly the play of the new set of linebackers. I think all of them stepped up very nicely & the defense as a whole did not allow a thing to the packers.

The offense was sputtering at the start which honestly as an eagle fan since 1980 is not surprising to me & even more so in the andy reid era the team hardly ever comes out strong on week 1. I saw some good things from # 5
but it is very obvious he is not 100% yet.

The reason the o struggled today was not because mcnabb was bad, it was because his front 5 was putrid. THat was as bad a performance by an offensive line as I have seen in a while & honestly mcnabb had pressure all day long & he really had no chance.

I am going to refrain from commenting on the special teams situation at this moment because this is a family website & my thoughts about those guys are not meant for young eyes.

The eagles as bad as they played as a whole were in the game, a game which never should have been as close as it was.

Its only week 1, but next monday night can't come fast enough because As i sit here on monday morning writing this, the day after eagles loss feeling that I have experienced time & time again in my 27 years an an eagles fan seems a bit stronger this morning. IS IT NEXT MONDAY YET?

At least I have a team. Since I've been here, you were a Patriots and Giants fan.
