Sad

Cancer is very rare in my family with only 3 known cases and 2 of them survived. I wish your friend nothing but the best and I pray that she gets through this.

If it is, just remember that cancer today isn't what it was 15, 10, or even 5 years ago -keep her up beat and remind her of this fact. Cancer treatment has come a long way, as has the drugs used to treat chemotherapy side effects - treatment obviously isn't fun, but its not the misery it used to be.

Personally, I think cancer should be treated more as any other moderate illness (as far as societal attitudes), the stigma placed on it simply scares people who have it more than it does good.

Know that you and your friend are in many others' thoughts. I'll say a prayer.

I"m very sorry to hear this bad news about your best friend, Jenny. Is she does have cancer, try to remember that breast cancer is on the more surviveable ones. I had a scare about five years ago, and I know others who have too....my step-daughter, daughter-in-law, a friend. These all turned out to be fine.

Please keep up posted, and stay strong for your friend. She needs all the support she can get.

My best wishes go to your best friend, Jenny. I hope everything turns out ok, and that it's not cancer.

I agree, no one should have to go through it. Be available, as I know you will be--for her.

I have known many people with cancer, who have beat it. A more close-to-home example would be me. I have been cancer-free for 18 years, but that didn't exactly diminish how I felt when I heard the diagnosis. I don't think a person in that situation ever forgets how that feels. You feel terrible at first, then you adopt the attitude of 'Hey, I'm going to fight this and win.' And I did.

Whatever happens, I will certainly keep your friend in my prayers, Jenny. You may need to be that shoulder she needs to cry on, if that's necessary.
