VMA losses spark another Kanye tantrum - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

LAS VEGAS - Sour grapes from Kanye West — again. Shut out at the Video Music Awards, Kanye West threw a tantrum Sunday night in front of media and crew backstage as the MTV show was ending.

West, waiting for an elevator in a crowded hallway, began yelling about losing all five categories for which he was nominated.

"That's two years in a row, man ... give a black man a chance," West said, stomping around his entourage and directing his comments at a reporter. "I'm trying hard man, I have the ... number one record, man."

West said he never will return to MTV.

The rapper was nomination for five awards, including male artist of the year. This is the latest in a series of awards show outburst for West. Last year, he crashed the stage at the MTV Europe Awards after not winning for best video.

I don't blame him for being pissed. The damn guy put out a hot record AND video and they ignored him?! Plus they also had him perform in a freaking SUITE! Yet they reserved the stage for Brit's god awful "performance."

They always seem to ignore good videos though. Such as Christina's "Ain't No Other Man."

2005: 3 nominations, 1 Award (Best Hip-Hop Video,Best Male Video,Video of the Year)

2006: 3 nominations, 0 Awards (Best Male Video, Best Hip Hop Video, Ringtone of the Year)

2007: 5 nominations, 0 Awards (Best Editing in a Video, Best Director, Quadruple Threat of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Video of the Year)

In total, Kanye has neen nominated 17 times over the past 4 years winning once. Should he be pissed? Yes. Is it because he samples too much? Not really. As good as Kanye West is, there is another artist that may be better than him.

There are alot of artists better than him that dont even get nominated.

Even if he had won 4 out of the 5 awards he was nominated for, it probably still wouldn't have been good enough.
