Rick: Okay girls let's get you to school.
(Later that day about time that Jo would be home frome work...Rick had the day off)
Rick: (to himself) where could she be she's always home by now.
Kerri: Daddy where's mommy I need her permision to kill Katie
Katie: Oh shut-up it's your fault
(Door bell rings)
Rick: Hello?
Officer: Are you Rick Bonner Jo Bonner's husband?
Rick: Yes, what happened?
Officer: Well Jo was in a motorcycle accident and is at the hospital. Would you like a ride?
Rick: Can my kids come?
Officer: Sure

(they are in the police car being taken to the hospital-oh by the way...katie and kerri are both..7 let's say?)

Katie- Daddy? What happened why are we here? Why do you look so sad?
Kerri- (looked at her dad with sad eyes) yea, what's going on?
Rick- (trying to hold back tears) girls, your mother...well she was in an accident.
Kerri- the kind that Katie used to do in the bed?
Katie- i did not! we all know it was yooou!
Rick- (forced a small smile- but then turned serious again) No..not that kind of accident. It invloved her..motercylce and another car.
(Kerri and Katie both look shocked)
Katie- what happened to mommy?!?! where is she? i want to see her right now!! (starting to cry)
Kerri- daddy...is..she gonna be okay? (eyes get watery)
Rick- (trys to be strong for katie and kerri's sake...) Well sure she will! (to himself) she needs to be.
(At the hospital in the waiting room)
Rick- (walks up to the front desk) do you haev any news on jo bonner?
Nurse- no sir, i'm sorry...not yet. Though i have been informed that mrs. bonner is in surgery right now.
Rick- anything else?
Nurse- no sir. i'm sorry.
Rick- (nodds and walks back to his seat)
Kerri- So? How's mom? can we see her yet? katie won't stop crying until we do!
Rick- no girls i'm sorry, not yet. soon okay?
Kerri-(nodds)
Nurse- excuse me mr.bonner?
Rick- (turns around)
Nurse- if you wish you may call mrs.bonner's family and let them know what happened.
Rick- yeah, okay good idea. Come on girls.
(Katie and Kerri follow rick to the nearest phone booth)
Katie- who are you calling?
Rick- mommy's family.
Kerri- but..grandma and grandpa aren't..alive. what other family does she have?
Rick- Blair, Natalie, Tootie, and Mrs. Garett.

Tootie: Oh Rick good to hear from you so how are you doing?

Rick: Katie hunny calm down it's okay mommy is going to be fine. (to himself) I hope (To the girls) I've got to call Blair

Blair: Rick is that you? What's wrong you sound upset?
Rick: Oh Blair Jo was in a motorcycle accident. You've got to come down here soon!!!

Natalie- (comes running in) how is she?!

Rick- Well, she is still in surgery at the moment..i have no information.

Rick-(shrugs) she's still in surgery...i know nothing.

Chelsea- no snack machine anywhere! what kind of hospital is this?

Rick- these are my two girls here. Katie and Kerri they're twins.
Mrs. G- oh girls..you look just like your mother.
Katie- (starts to cry harder)

Katie- but what if she isn't?
Bev Ann- don't even say that.
Kerri- yea she's right..mom will be okay! really she will. (holds out hand) i'm kerri.

(just then tootie, jeff, and two little girls walk in)
Natalie- Tootie? is that you?

oh gosh i'd say i've missed you so much but i just saw you last week at jeff's parents 50th anniversary party! (looks at chelsea) Well hello little chelsea.
Chelsea- well hello there. (smiles)
Natalie- (smiles)
Tootie- but this is someone i havn't seen! (runs over to mrs.garett and hugs her)
Mrs. G- (shocked because she is busy consoling katie) What in the world? (turns around) Tootie! you look great! how are you?
Tootie- well not so good right now...how's jo?
Bev Ann- none of us know anything yet.
Tootie- hey Beverly Ann! i didn't see ya there! (hugs her- and then sees katie and kerri) who are these two cuties?
Mrs. G- oh, these are jo's children.
Tootie- (gets a sad look on her face because she knows how hard it must be for them both) Oh ,well hello. I'm tootie.
Kerri- hi. nice to meet you.
Katie- yea same here.
Tootie- Mrs. Garett, Beverly Ann, Katie, Kerri, everybody, these are my two daughters Jordan who's 12 and Jenny who's 10.
Jenny and Jordan- hi...
Tootie- (sees Rick sitten all alone) well why don't you all get to know eachother okay?

Tootie- (walks over to rick)Hey you.
Rick- Hey (gives her a little hug) how ya doin?
Tootie- okay i guess. (hesitates) how you holdin up?
Rick- not so good. i don't know what i would do without her.

Nurse: Bonner?
Rick: Wait a minute...I need to get my girls. Katie Kerri there's news on mom.
Kerri & Katie: What?!?!
Nurse: Well Mrs. Bonner is out of surgery and stable. She may or may not make it. You can go see her now 2 at a time please.
Rick: Thank-you.
Tootie: Wait a minute...where's Blair?
Rick: Oh she's not coming till tommarrow.
Tootie: Oh. Rick why don't you go first...alone.
Rick: Okay. (Jo's Room) Hey hunny.
Jo: Rick I'm so glad to see you. I'm so sorry I scared you where are the girls?
Rick: One I'm glad to see you. Two You scared me to death but I forgive you. Three the girls are in the hall they will cime in next. Oh and one more thing...slow down your talking way to fast.
Jo: Oh sorry. I love you.
Rick: I love you to.

Jo: Hi girls. I'm glad to see you to. I love you both a whole lot.

Jo: Well that's goo (All of a sudden Jo falls back...she's gasping for air)

Rick- what? (opens door to see jo still gasping for air) omg...we need a doctor here! Natalie! (grabs her arm) get a doctor and hurry!
Natalie- (nodds and runs down the hallway)
Rick- (runs in jo's room and holds her hand) Come one jo.
Jo- (falls back and becomes unconsious)
Rick- (tears form in his eyes)come on jo baby..please be okay.
(just then a doctor runs in with a couple of nurses and starts mumbling some "doctor" terms)
Doctor- Sir we need you to step outside please.
Rick- is she gonna be okay?
Doctor- (firmly) step outside please.
Rick- (softly) i love you jo. (turns around and walks out)
(outside)
Tootie- is she going to be alright.
Rick- (not really paying attention to tootie) i..i don't know.
Jeff- oh my gosh. are you serious?
Rick- i'm afraid so.
Mrs. G- here, let's go back to the waiting room. no use standing out here.
BevAnn- yea, she's right. Come on.
Katie-(firmly) No.
Mrs. G- Katie please.
Katie- I'm not moving until i know how mommy is.
Rick- sweetie you can't stay here. i'm sorry but you're coming with me.
Kerri- come on katie! mom would tell you the same thing daddy is.
Katie- (shruged)fine.
(all slowly walk back to the waiting room)
Nurse at the front desk- mr. bonner?
Rick- yes? any news? oh please tell me she's okay!
Nurse- I'm sorry sir, i don't know yet. and i'm certain i won't know anything until tomorrow so why don't all of you go home, get a good night's rest and come back first thing tomorrow.
Rick- yea okay. Come on guys, we'll all stay at my place tonight.

Rick- (pacing back and forth) Any news yet?
Nurse- I;m sorry mr.bonner. (phone rings) hold on please. Hello? Yes dr. greenberg he's here now. okay. yes i'll tell him right away. thank you. goodbye. (hangs up phone) Mr. Bonner?
Rick- (turns around)
Nurse- I have some news on your wife.
Rick- (takes a deep breath) is she alright?
Nurse- Well at the moment we are not sure. She is in a coma.
Rick- A..a..coma?
Nurse- yes mr. bonner. in an hour you will be able to see her. but i don't know if you should allow the children inside the room. it may be hard for them.
Rick- thank you.
Nurse- you're welcome mr.bonner.
Tootie- so? what's going on.
Rick- she's in a coma?
Natalie- no...please say that's not true!
Katie- is a..coma (doesn't pronounce it correctly) a good thing?
Rick- I'm afraid not.
Kerri- what is it?
Rick- it's hard to explain. listen girls, i don't know if it is a good idea for you two to see mommy today.
Katie- why not?
Rick- because well mommy is unconsious.
Katie- what's that?
Rick- it means she isn't awake and won't be able to hear what you say to her.
Kerri- oh that's okay daddy! i still want to see her!

(just then blair, cliff, and a little girl walk in)
Blair- Hello all!
Natalie- (wipes tears from her face) blair! you look great! (hugs her)

Blair- i'd like you all to meet my daughter Rachel. she's 8 years old. and let me guess (walks over to chelsea) you're mom's name is natalie.
Chelsea-(nodds)
Blair- (walks over to jordan and jenny)you two belong to tootie. and (walks over to katie and kerri) You must be kerri and katie.
Kerri and Katie- how'd you know?
Blair- oh i've heard a lot about you from your mom. speaking of which how is jo? can i go see her now?
Rick- Blair, i think you better sit down for this.
Blair- (sits down) okay..
Rick- jo's in..a..a..coma right now.
Blair- what?! oh my gosh! is she going to be alright?
Rick- we don't know.
Blair- don't know? (gets teary-eyed) well..when can we see her?
Rick- about a half hour.
Blair- (nodds and says nothing for the next half hour)
(half hour later)
Nurse- you may visit mrs.bonner two or three at a time. Room 203. second floor, left hallway, three doors down.
Rick- thank you.
(all go up-stairs)
Katie- i wanna visit her first!
Rick- alright girls. but please don't raise your voices and don't be frightened.
Kerri- we won't we won't. come on. (opens the door and they walk inside jo's room)
(about 2 minutes later)
Katie- (comes running out of the room crying) That's not her! That's not my mom! That's not the person who tucks me in at night and helps me when i'm sad. That's not her! I tell you it's not! It can't be! It just can't be! (starts to cry hystericly and runs down the hallway with kerri right behind her)
Rick- oh no. (is about to go after them)
Mrs. G- Rick, i'll get them. you need to be here. Natalie, tootie,blair do you want me to take your girls too?
Natalie- please.
Tootie- thanks mrs. garett.
(mrs.garett walks away and bring jenny, jordan, rachel, and chelsea with her)
Rick- girls, you go ahead.
Blair- (nodds and her, natalie, and tootie walk in jo's room)
(inside)
Tootie- hey jo. (sniffles because she has never seen anyone look quite like jo did at the moment)
Natalie- listen jo..i know you can't hear us. we just wanted to tell you how much we all love you.
Blair- (crying) jo..please don't leave us! you know i'd be nothing without you. p..please jo! (starts crying harder)
Tootie- (hugs blair) come on. let's get out of here. i don't know how much more of this i can take.
Natalie- she's right. come on.
(walk out)
Cliff- (sees blair crying on tootie's shoulder)Come here blair (hugs her) it's gonna be okay.

Kerri: Katie it'll be okay Mom will be fine.
Katie: How do you know? Mom may die.

Rick: Katie, would you please calm down. Mom will be just fine. (To himself) I hope.
Dr: Bonner?
Rick: What?
Dr: Well Mrs. Bonner is stable and has woken up. You may visit her in (Inturrepted by a nurse in Jo's room yelling 'Dr. Norman come quick she's slipping)
Rick: OMG!!! Did you hear that Jo's slipping OMG what will I do without her?
Tootie: Rick calm down Jo's going to be fine.
Beverly-ann: Yea Tootie's right Rick...if anyone can survive this it's Jo.
Mrs G: Yea Rick. Jo was always strong she's going to be fine.
Blair: She might not. You can't say that for sure...can you? Huh!
Nat: Well no but We all know Jo we all know she's strong and...(Blair inturrupts her)
Blair: (Yelling) NAT FACE THE FACTS...JO IS NOT DOING PERFECT. FOR ONCE JO MAY NOT MAKE IT!!!!
Mrs. G: (Yelling) BLAIR NATALIE IT'S NOT THE TIME TO BE SCREAMING AND YELLING AT EACH OTHER!!! (calmed down) Now sit down and stay calm...we don't want the little ones to worry.

Cliff- (who was over talkin to jeff and snake sees blair the way she is-and then runs over to her) Come on blair. (hugs her and helps her up and then they both walk away)

Mrs. G- your mom's just a little upset right now. jo is her best friend and differant people react differant ways to tragedy. do you understand?
Rachel- yea. I guess so.
Natalie- (tear rolls down her cheek)
Chelsea- she'll be okay. don't worry.
Natalie- Chelsea, will you please go play with jenny or jordan or someone?
Chelsea- (sighs)fine. (walks over to jenny and jordan) come on you guys lets..do something.

Jordan- don't ask her let's just go.

Mrs. G- (walks over to katie and kerri) hello girls.

Kerri- um..our mom told us that when times are really rough you give the best advice. so, maybe you could help us.

(meanwhile back where nat is-snake comes over)
Snake- Nat, i hate to see you this way.
Natalie- Well there isn't much i can do about it is there?
Snake- i guess not. (hugs her and kisses her head)
Tootie- (sitting in a chair secluded from everyone else just staring at the wall blankly)
Jeff- hey tootie. how are ya?
Tootie- jeff please. i just want to be alone.
Jeff- oh okay. sorry. (walks away)
Tootie- (puts hands over face and cries)
(just then cliff walks back in with his arm around blair who has a very tear-stained face)

Cliff- yea..don't wake her though. she needs some sleep she hasn't had any for the past two nights.
Blair- (moves a little) oh it's alright, i'm already up. what's going on?
Natalie- oh, i just wanted to know if maybe you wanted to go for a walk with me and tootie.
Blair- yea sure. i could use some fresh air. Cliff watch rachel for me okay?
Cliff- sure.
Natalie- oh yea snake will you watch chelsea and tell jeff to do the same with jordan and jenny.
Snake- (nodds)

(Start walking)
