I was wondering if any of you screen cap experts could help me out. (This is a question that is totally scientific and one of which the Professor would be proud--nothing to keep you awake at night)
I know that we all have all different types of computers and software and I have little expert knowledge about these things. My husband usually tries to tip me off about these things but the screen cap attempts have just not been working out. It's possible that there's something wrong with the software, etc. and it's also possible that we're just idiots in this case.Anyway, here goes.....Our regular internal Win DVD drive, as well as Win DVD in this case is not working. We therefore got an external (Mad Dog brand) DVD drive. We got to play the "Gilligan" DVD with it, used the Prt Sc (Print Screen) key with Shift to capture the image. By the way, for all this, we were using an "Interactual player" software, the other thing is Roxio; I don't know if they're related. Anyway, after we "captured" the image, we opened up another program (one of his video/photo, etc. programs) and attempted to save and store the screen cap in my folder, creating a screen cap sub-folder. What happened was that after we saved the first test image and gave it a name and we went on to do the same with a second one, both files were listed, with their separate names in the folder, but only the last one would be saved. When we clicked on either, we would only get the last one we captured. We have no idea what's going on--he says it might have something to do with a temporary file or the clipboard. Can someone give me a clue? Sorry if I bored you this time and made you miss my "shocking" questions somewhat but I don't know how much information to give. Is the Professor around???? Please advise if you can. Thanks!!!

I'm no expert on these things but I've been using faststone and snag-it for screen captures. Each can be downloaded and used free for 30 days then you have to pay to unlock them. I believe the cost is 19.95 each after the trial period. Of the 2, I prefer snag-it as it seems to be the simplest to use.
