Default The European Trip...

Why were the hotel rooms so damn small?

The same set was used for the hotel room in Italy and London. All they did was change the furniture. Even the door and the window were in the same spot. I also believe for the short time it was shown, the same set was used at the end of the Scotland episode.

In London, where they meet Sir Clive Richardson and his beautiful daughter, why did Lucy expect Ricky to know or understand what "riding to hounds" meant when she read out loud the newspaper to him?

The hotel rooms were pretty obvious although they tried to disguise it. I think they used the same set for London, Scotland, Italy (Italian Movie), and Italy (Bike Trip). There was another set with the entrance from the right and a window straight ahead. It was used in Paris (Paris at Last), Monte Carlo and Switzerland.

I really like the Mertz' room in Switzerland. It had a slanted ceiling with Bavarian decor and a view of the Alps.

BTW, how did Lucy know what "riding to hounds" was?

In the bicycle trip, the room looked different than the other times we seen the European hotel rooms that the Ricardos stayed in. Let's not forget the Italy hotel room with that rock hard bed that Ricky flopped his face into.

Ohhhhh my lady, can we have a screen cap of that moment. It seems he really hits the bed with his hand rather than full force with his head/face. I just have to see that moment "still".

As for Lucy knowing what "riding to hounds" meant, I am only speculating she had some sort of idea since the English are known to fox hunt. She may have read some things back home abt the royal family. I never knew abt "riding to hounds" until I seen this episode.

I though Ricky slammed his face too, but looking back he just sat down hard.

In "Lucy's Bicycle Trip" the room is a bit different. I was wondering if they shot it from a different angle because there are two doors and the window like in the other eps.

There is a scene where Ricky and Lucy come back upstairs after making several trips on those stairs and Ricky lands face down on the bed. He forgot abt the bed being hard.

I-thanks for the help! I thought there was a scene where he did a face-plant, then I started to doubt myself. The screen cap is of poor quality because the movement happened so fast it is blurry. At least we can get the idea, and yes, his arms did break his fall then he acted like he hit his head.

Ah yes, there it is thank you! It did happen so fast. You are good at your screen caps. Desi must have been taught by Lucy how to do that trick, afterall, she is the queen of physical comedy, who better to learn from then the best.
