Goran Visnjic Set For His Paternity Court Date

ER heartthrob Goran Visnjic has been ordered to appear in a Croatian court later this month in relation to a paternity battle with a local woman who claims the actor is the father of her child.

Visnjic, who has been wed to sculptor Ivana Vrdoljak since 1999, has admitted to having an affair with Mirela Rupic and agreed to take a DNA test to determine parentage of her five-month-old daughter.

Visnjic claims he remembers nothing from his romantic encounter with Rupic, which took place in the summer of 2006, because he was jet lagged and drunk. But the 34-year-old will now be forced to travel to his native country to face the lawsuit, and meet Rupic's demand of $1,800-a-month in child support if the paternity test is positive.

Rupic's lawyer, Nenad Skare, says, "In August, a Zagreb court (in Croatia) informed us that the accused is denying our suit and proposing that DNA testing to establish paternity (of the child) be done in the U.S. where he lives."

Visnjic's attorney confirmed the star will undergo DNA testing before the scheduled court date of September 26th. The star and his wife have a son, Tin, who they adopted in April.
