Sad An Apology

I just got a very nasty private message from someone who decided to attack me for posting a summary of the final episode. I was told how terrible I was for "spoiling it" for catlover and others. I did not realize I was upsetting people and I will refrain from discussing details of any other episodes to avoid doing so in the future. My apologies.

Hi Sue. Ditto with no worries. If someone starts to read a thread and they don't want to know more they can always stop reading and click to something else. But if you really want to be on the safe side just put the word "SPOILER" in quotes in title of your thread. As for nasty posters, I have a story for you. I'm going to private message you with the details. Again, all the episodes....I'm envious!

Sue you did nothing wrong. Barney Miller has been off the air for 25 years. If anybody doesn't know how it ended, it is their problem. Members should not be worried about posting spoilers for a show that has been off the air for so long. I know I would never worry about it.

BTW Welcome to SO Sue. It's great having you here.

You did nothing wrong. There's no rule about putting spoiler warnings in old shows, so don't even think about doing that. If someone doesn't know how episodes end from a show that's three decades old, they have no business posting on that show's message board.

Sue, please don't be upset. You have got to be kidding me if someone would get upset about spoilers from a 30 year old show. That is f-ing petty.

I'm sorry that this happened to you Sue. I hope that you don't let one bad apple discourage you from posting here. There are alot of nice people here too.

I'm glad you posted that spoiler. It had been so long since i've seen the finale and reading that brought back alot of memories.

Guess I'm still green around the ears and in many respects a newbie, since I started actively posting about 2 months ago. It's just that in past headaches with someone nasty, a supportive and nice poster suggested the above..so I did the same. Glad to know it's unnecessary. (Which, when you think it through, makes sense.) Now I can relax and post synops on classic eps from the Adv. of O & H guilt-free. Thanks Janice, Brian Damage & Walking Tall for setting me straight; didn't mean to be off on this one but guess I was.

Well, I already know the episode synopsis, as I've read it other places. So you don't need to apologize to me, Sue.

Yea if you look around the boards especially on some of the 70's boards like Good Times you'll find a lot of episode discussions. The spoiler rule only comes in for current shows and then for only 24 hours.
