Default YAY! The best TV reference book is updated and will be released

Tuesday, October 16. The book is, of course, The Complete Directory to Prime Time Network and Cable TV Shows, 1946-Present (Paperback)
by Tim Brooks (Author), Earle F. Marsh (Author). I've bought every new edition of this book since 1988! Who else likes it?

I've bought every edition since 1979. I wonder if someone will give it to me for Christmas or force me to buy it myself? This one will probably be over $30. I think the first edition was about $12.

About time! I need a new one. The last and only one I bought was the 1999 edition. It doesn't even have a cover anymore and the pages are starting to fall out. I still use it about once a week. The only bad thing about this new edition will be seeing all those reality shows listed.

I think the three of us are the most anti-reality show people on this board. GOOD!

Trust me, Nobody on this board despises reality shows more than I do.

I'll probably get the book as gift just like the last few years. This thing comes in mighty handy when it's time to play radio contests.

I bought the edition up to the 2003 season but I really don't see the point in buying the updated edition because it's not like the new edition will have revised past info, just new info for shows between 2003-2007 and I already know about that era-lol

I'be bought the last three editions, and my dad owns the very first edition, which I believe is the '79 one. Everytime I go into a bookstore, I always check to see if they have an updated version. Even though I don't techinally need it, what with the internet, I still like to have one on hand.

I'm glad a new one's coming out.

I thought the internet has rendered those type of books useless.

I think so because everything that's in that book can be found on the Internet-lol I depend mainly on old tv guides, magazines, and newspapers for TV information. That book probably was very useful in 1989, but not today

I have two, one from 1995 and one newer than that (the last one published). I use them all the time because if I have the right piece of information, I can find things faster there than on the internet, believe it or not. It's also a place to have related info all in one place. It's also nice to have it sitting right there by my tv (where my computer isn't) and be able to get to info quickly. I'm looking forward to buying the new one. I also have my TV Guide Film and Video Companion and my copy of Leonard Maltin's 2006 Movie Guide right there too, and I also use those all the time.

Cool! I love this book. I have had a few editions, the 2003 (8th) is my latest one.

I will read the new one cover to cover.

I'm glad to be the bearer of good news! I can't wait. Does anyone remember that one of the authors did a companion book called The Complete Directory of Primetime STARS? I believe the last edition of that tome was made in the 1980s. I wish THAT book would be updated, too!!
