Browns Player Arrested At Cleveland Hopkins Airport
![]() CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland Browns cornerback Leigh Bodden was released from jail early Thursday morning after being arrested at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Police said he faces aggravated disorderly conduct and resisting arrest charges in connection with parking illegally at the airport. He is due in court at 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Bodden was picking up his girlfriend along with their 2-year-old daughter and 6-week-old son from the airport when he was arrested. Hopkins airport officials told ONN affiliate WEWS that Bodden parked in a restricted parking zone and that when asked to move, he refused. Lt. Thomas Stacho of the Cleveland Police Department said that when officers arrived on scene, Bodden was spotted driving down a one-way street backward, and going the wrong way. Officers said they attempted to flag him down, and he eventually stopped, but according to Stacho, Bodden refused to show his drivers license to officers. Aggravated disorderly conduct is a first-degree misdemeanor. If convicted, Bodden faces up to 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. Bodden was acquired by the Cleveland Browns in 2003. He started in all nine games that he played in last year, until he was sidelined by injuries. The Browns extended his four-year contract at the end of the 2005 season. Copyright 2007 by WEWS-TV. |

Leigh Bodden should be ashamed of himself-there's no excuse for that kind of uncivilized behavior, especially when the Browns have to play their long time archrivals, the Steelers, this Sunday at Cleveland Browns Stadium. Expect Romeo Crennel to verbally reprimand Bodden for his behavior at Cleveland Hopkins Airport, real soon.

Pretty soon, all the correctional institutes in the USA will be vying to recruit rogue NFL players, so they can be the PFL ( Prison Football league ) champs!

but seriously, while the $1000 fine seems a bit high, 180 days in jail seems unduly harsh, when you consider the 2 days jail time to Lindsay Lowbrain for stealing a car and drunk driving then crashing it, and being caught with hard drugs!
( this was basically a parking violation )

A few years ago, Jay Leno called the NFL the National Felony League.
I think he's right on the money.
