Default I really HATE Phil and Viv in this one episode!

You remember the episode, when Will had been in Philly over the summer, and when he came back to his aunt and uncle, Uncle Phil just treated him like dirt because of his new style? His clothes were wrong, his hairdo was wrong, his beeper was wrong. And Ashley wasn't allowed to express herself either. And when Will told his cousins, that they shouldn't let him control their lives, and they just agreed with him, they were grounded, just because they understood that Will was right. And not only was it wrong to ground them for so little, but it would have been ridiculous for Phil to ground Hilary for any reason at all, since she was over twenty years old. And also, Viv was a real bitch, totally approving of what Phil did. This episode just makes me puke. All of the kids, even Ashley, were old enough at this point to make their own decisions, but they were all treated like little babies. This has to be the worst episode in this entire show's run.

Vivian sure co-signed Phil's actions.

That was in the third season and that was when Will Smith and Janet Hubert-Whitten's feud hit full tilt. With her getting pregnant intensified the situation. Her portrayal of Vivian Banks did not have the same drive and energy as it did the first two seasons. She constantly looked pissed off during that season.

Yeah, I think it's the third season. Will and Carlton seem to still have been in High School, but this is probably right before they start their senior year.

Tell us how you really feel. As much as it was irrational, Phil did bring up good points about Will being seen as a drug dealer and then being profiled like he was in the episode. The grounding was just something to drive home the point.. All it did was lead up to the end when the kids all chased after him...

Its not practical its tv..

But no matter what Will might have looked like, it was his own choice to look that way. Uncle Phil had no business deciding that for him.

Yeah in the real world its his choice.. but its TV.. its not rational, it just made an episode.. Phil was trying to look after him whether he thought it was right or not..
