Wendie

A while back, I read on the Internet that Wendie Mallick was one of the actresses who auditioned for the part of Daine. Is anyone else familiar with this reality? I am "very" curious about how people think she would have done in the part! To start with, Shelly Long is Blonde. There are "many" steratypes about the concept of the "dumb blonde" and expressions like "blondes have more fun". However, I do not think that there was anything special about Diane that states that "only" a blonde would be good for the part. In fact, I do not think that she fit the steratype of a typical at all. She was not like Chrissy from "Three's Company" or Katie from "Gimme a Break!" Also, Shelly Long is on the short side while Wendie Mallick would be "ideal" on a women's basketball team! There again, I do not think that Diane had any characterisitcs that "only" a short person could have. Given these facts, what do other posters think of Wendie for the part?

Ted Danson and Shelly Long where one of many pairs who auditioned. They loved the style of acting they brought out and what a lovely couple they made. Or at least, that's what I had read. :P
