No Christmas episode? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they never made a Christmas episode of Leave It To Beaver. At least I don't recall one. I don't know if we even ever saw a Christmas tree inside the Cleaver's house. It seems odd, this was supposed to be the all-american family. Did they not believe in Christmas? Perhaps the writers chose not to do any Christmas episodes?

The Cleaver's never made a Christmas episode during the original run of the series. During the New Leave It to Beaver in the 80's they did do a Christmas episode, but not during the original run.

The nearest thing the show came to a Christmas episode was the haircut episode of the first season. Beaver has an angel costume and sings in a choir at Christmastime. I don't think of it as a 'real' Chrsitmas episode and I doubt if many people do.

That's what I thought. That's odd that the original series didn't have a Christmas episode. There's something missing without one. I've always thought they should have done an episode where it's Christmastime and Beaver has been asking for and hoping to receive a certain present. It's something that many other kids are asking for as well, so it's hard to find it because the stores are often out of stock. Ward, June, and Wally have all been out trying to get the present for Beaver. Christmas Day comes, and it doesn't look like Beaver will get the present but in the last minute his parents hand him a box and inside is the gift he was hoping for.

I could never figure out why they never did a Christmas ep. Like lee said they are supposed to be the all american family.
