(Jo has two children, Katie who is 11 and has Cystic Fibrosis or CF, and Tim who is 3. Jo and Blair live about 2 blocks away frome each other and Keep in touch. Blair has 1 daughter Jackie who was born on the same day and year as Katie. Katie was born 3 hours before Jackie.)

Jo: Katie get up, you've got to go through therapy and go to school.
Katie: Oh hush-up and let me sleep!!!
Jo: Katie get up now! Katie don't make me go get your father.
Katie: I'm up, I'm up.
Jo: Good now go sit on the couch and wait for me.
Tim: MOMMY!!!!!
Jo: What?
Tim: I had an accident.
Jo: Rick, would you take care of that I've got to go help Katie.
Rick: Fine.
Jo: (Finished with Katie's therapy) Okay go get dressed breakfast is on the table.
Katie: Yes ma'am.
***Phone Call***
Jo: Hello. Oh hi Blair. Well I don't know. Blair can this wait till later, I've got to get Katie to school. Thank-you. Bye.
(Later that day)
***Phone converstion***
Beverly Ann: Hello. Jo It's you. A reunion., what a great idea. Guess what Edna's coming back next week. So if that works for you that would be fine. Yes I'll call everyone. Bye.
Katie: Mom who was that?
Jo: Remember how I told you about Beverly Ann, Mrs. Garrett, Natalie, and Dorothy or "Tootie" Ramsey.
Katie: Yes I still can't believe you were roomates with THE Dorothy Ramsey.
Jo: And Blair. Well everyone is going to Peekskill for a reunion. In the meantime go pack you bags. You go to the hospital for your first bronch tommarrow.
Katie: Yes ma'am. Mom one more thing, I'm scared.
Jo: I know you are. I know.

So should I dump it or keep going?

Rick: We'll get our stuff now.
(Katie and Jo go get Katie's therapy stuff)
BA: Whoa...what's all that for?!?
Jo: Did I forget to mention that Katie has CF this is her therapy stuff.
BA: Oh I'm sorry to hear that.
Katie: Oh it's okay CF is no biggie I'm fine I'm also used to being singled out because of it.
Jo: Katie, take your stuff upstairs and put it where Beverly Ann tells you to put it. Then come down here I want to talk to you.
Katie: (Sarcastically) Yes mother.
Rick: Jo go easy on her she's only eleven.
Jo: Whatever.
Katie: So mom what did you want to talk about?
Jo: Katie I'm going to remind you that having CF is a biggie. It is life threatning so I don't want to hear that attitude.
Katie: Fine.
***Doorbell***
BA: Edna!!!
Jo: Mrs. G!!! Hi. I want you to meet my husband Rick. My son Tim he's three and my daughter Katie She's eleven.
Katie: Nice to meet you.
(Katie starts to get short of breath)
Jo&Rick: Katie what's wrong?
Katie: Mom It's harder to berathe than usual and my chest hurts.
Jo: Rick call 911.
Rick: No problem.
Mrs. G: Jo what's wrong?
Jo: Katie has CF. This could be a reaction to medicine a resperatory infection. Who knows.
Rick: An ambulance should be here in 7 minutes.
Katie: Mom it hurts!!
Jo: I know.

BA: Well Blair is here now and so is Tootie. I'll wait for Natalie and then come the ambulance is here. We'll be there ASAP.
(Hospital waiting room, Beverly Ann finally arrives with Natalie and the rest of her family.)
Jo: Rick I hate it when this happens. I wish we knew if she was okay.
Rick: I know. It's okay.
Natalie: Who's in the hospital for what?
Rick: Our daughter Katie, she has CF was having trouble breathing and having chest pains.
(A doctor enters the room)
Doctor: Bonner?
Jo: Yes, how is she?
Doctor: She should be fine. It's just a resperatory infection. Family can go see her now room 354 on the 3rd floor.
Jo: Thank-you.
(Katie's Room)
Katie: Mom, Dad?
Jo: We're right here baby, just rest.
Katie: I'm scared.
Jo: I know. Katie just remember this, Your father and I both love you lots.
Katie: Okay I (All of a sudden she falls back on the bed eyes closed she wasn't breathing. Doctors run in)
Doctor2: Please wait outside.
(In the hall Jo collapses and starts crying.)
Rick: Jo sweetheart Katie's going to be fine.
Jo: I hope.

Mrs. G: Is everything okay?
Rick: We were just back there and no...Katie stopped breathing.
Tootie: OMG!!! Jo are you okay?
Jo: Do you think I'm okay? My daughter may be dying!!!! No I'm not okay!!!
Tootie: Sorry I asked Jo.
Blair: Jo it's okay she's going to be fine. Katie has been in this situation once before, she lived remember.
Jo: Yes, but she's been getting worse and worse. I wanted her to meet you guys before she died. I never thought that this would happen.
Tom: Mommy, is Kawie okay? (Kawie is Tim's way of saying Katie)
Rick: Tim Katie is fine.
Doctor: Bonner.
Jo: Yes, Is she?
Doctor: No she was having a reaction to the medication.
Rick: When can we see her?
Doctor: Right now.
(Katie's room everyone is there)
Tootie: Hi you must be Katie I'm--
Katie: (Inturrupting) Mrs. Ramsey!!!! May I have your autograph?
Tootie: Yes and call me Tootie.
Katie: Wow! I get to call the real (Suddenly there was silence and the heart ominter made the sound of no heartbeat.)

Jo: (sobbing) I hope she's okay. This has happened one time before she survived but was in a coma. I hope that isn't happening again.
Rick: Jo she'll be fine. You know that.
Jo: No we don't, Rick what if she (Gulps) dies?
Natalie Blair Mrs. G & BA: Jo don't say that.
Natalie: Look here comes a doctor now.
Doctor: Bonner.
Rick: Ya is she okay?
Doctor: (Shakes his head and frowns) I'm sorry to tell you this but well Katie is in critical condition and they are moving her to the ICU now. But currently she is in a coma. I'm very sorry.
Jo: Thank-you doctor.
(The Doctor leaves)
Jo: Listen you guys I'm sorry that this reunion will be like this. Katie has been getting worse and well I just wanted her to meet you guys before she dies. Oh Rick I love her so much.
Rick: I know you do Jo. Just calm down.
Jo: Mrs. G I really need some advice right about now.
(Everyone including Jo laughs a little)
Mrs. G: Jo all I can tell you to do is pray and when they let you see her even though she may not be able to hear you tell everything you ever wanted to tell her. Jo I'm so sorry.
Natalie: Jo we're all sorry. I hope she's okay.
(They all hug)
Rick: There's no reason in staying here. Visiting hours are over so we better head home.
Jo: Okay.

Jo: Why her why now? G-d I hope she's okay.

Jo: Can't sleep, as usual when Katie's in the hospital.
Rick: Jo she's in the hospital we can't do anything about that. I know how much you care about her and how much you love her but there is nothing we can do.
Jo: I'm scared Rick. I never prepared Katie for death, I knew it would happen sooner or later but I figured it would be later.
Rick: Jo listen you may not think she's ready for death but ever since she was diagnosed you always have been preparing her. You always told her that one day she would die, you were preparing her trust me.
Jo: Rick I want to see her one more time. I just want to hear Katie's voice one more time. I don't want her to die now.
Rick: Jo I know hunny I do but we have absolutly no control over when she dies.
Jo: I know.

Okay so nothing really happened. I'm getting there. Keep going?
