Detective squad rooms are leaking, creaky hell holes with bad plumbing and broken air conditioners

Senior Detectives openly flaunt to law by making illegal bets on the horses during working hours

Men over 50 cant stay out of the bathroom for more than 15 mins at a time

Police constables apparently never book their own "collars" in NY, and leave that to the detectives, instead

Police inspectors have nothing better to do than to hang around the office, telling the same old boring stories, over and over again

You never get put on hold if you call the Police in NY, as theres always a phone available , and someone to answer it

( yeah, i believe THAT one! )

I think we found that you do not have to be a tyrant to be the boss. Respect came from being just a guy with a job and the ability to reach all levels and personality's..

I've been blessed to have several supervisors like Barney - level-headed, friendly, professional yet not afraid to get on someone who is doing wrong. Great example!!
