The Jeffersons Were In Bad Timeslots And Days between Season 2-Season 5 And Almost Got Canclled In Both Season 4 And Season 5.

"Sledgehammer," starring David Rasche (1986-88) - was fed to the sharks when it ran up against "The Cosby Show," (The #1 show during those 2 seasons at the time) which was why it only lasted two seasons.

"The Rockford Files" - when they aired it up against "Hawaii Five-O" (which was still going strong in the 1975-76 season) in its 2nd season and dipped off the top spots every season after that.

I think that's also part of why Mork and Mindy completely drifted off the top spot after S1.

Sledge also aired opposite Dallas during it's first season. It was never given much of a chance.

I did read about that, also! ABC really fumbled with this show big time! It could've of been another long-running great show, but ABC fumbled and messed up with this show when they aired it up against CBS's most popular show "Dallas" and against NBC's powerhouse of "The Cosby Show."

WKRP- CBS not only kept scheduling this show against the highest rated shows of the other networks, but, with all the time-slot changes, the audience had a hard time finding it....It should have been a bigger hit

Cbs Had A Habit Of moving Show From 1 Timeslot To Another In The Mid To Late 70s Which Cause Of Lot Of There Shows To Decline In The Ratings And Be Canceled From 1975 To 1980.
