Default The Toilet Seat

On August 8th, I become the most recent poster on the thread known as "Favorite Quote". Because of my fondness of the episode that this quote came from and because no one has told me what they think of that quote, I think that this situation deserves a thread of its own!

The episode that this incident took place in was from the fifth season. In this episode, Grace's new husband had just retunred from one trip and was about to go on another. If you remember, Leo had to do a lot of traveling with his job. In any event, during his few days in Brooklyn, he unpacked his inflatable neck pillow that he used on the plane. Grace had never seen such a thing before and asked Leo what it was used for. He gave her an explanation as to what it was shortly before he made a hand motion to put in in his bag. Grace said that he might not want to pack it because of something else that she had been using it for. Leo was curious about what on earth she could possibly have used it for! Grace responded with, it fits right over the toilet seat"! This is one example of how it seemed that the bathroom was Grace's favorite room of the house and how her time using it was her favorite time of the day! Shortly after I pointed this out the first time, I started another thread called "Boot". This post was about my idea about how, in addition to being kooky in a nice way, she was also materialistic in a nice way and self-centered in a nice way. I "really" liked her character!

Karen was the character who did it for me. She was so OVER. And she had the best one-liners. Will was my fav too--it's hard to go wrong with a hot witty lawyer.

One thing that I hope that people do not think is that this response is an attempt to "beg" other fans to respond to my messages! It just makes me feel a little sad that out of all of this time, a thread that I put a "lot" of effort into only got "one" response! I am hoping that I will have better luck if I bring this post back to the top of the board. If you look down several posts, you will find a thread by me called "Boots". This post has "zero" responses! The point that I was trying to make is that I feel that the character of Grace had a way of making such things as kookyness, materilism and selfishness seem rather cute and even a little sexy! I would be "very" interestes in hearing from anyone who aggrees or disagrees with this point of view! In any event, I am not sure what the title of the episode about the toilet seat was, but I am pretty sure it was in the fifth season. I believe that this season has recently been reliesed on DVD. I am "very" anxious for a store near where I live to obtain a copy! In any event, the episodes that dealt with the boots was titled "Star Spangled Banter", it was in the fourth seaon and I own this DVD. In this episode, Grace's selfishness caused her to spend five hundred dollars on a pair of boots that I thought she looked "very" sexy in! Wow! Another thing that I liked about this episode had to do with a one-time character named Judy Green. I do not remember the name of the actress who played her, but I feel that she was almost as "hot" as Debra Messing! Oh the memories!

I also find it frustrating when the bds for shows I really like just seem to lie there- like Will & Grace and Sex And The City. Another show I'm very fond of is the Adv. of Ozzie & Harriet ( a 50s show). I'm practically the only one starting threads there and it does frustrate me. But I can't control how a bd moves. So I tend to go more onto bds like I Love Lucy and Bewitched where there are many active and knowledgeble S.O. Members. I guess W&G and S&TC aren't destined to hop right now. What are you going to do. (Sigh)

I am "very" happy that at least one person has responded to this thread! Of all of the shows on this page, this is the last one in alphabetical order in which I have any interest in or that I have ever posted on. So far, this evening, I have made new posts on the pages dedicated to "The Brady Bunch", "What's Happening", and "Gimme a Break!" Before I came to this site, I went to a site called "Jump the Shark". On this site, I added a post to the "Brady Bunch" page. I would be "very" interested in what other fans think of any of these posts! I would still also "love" to read what other fans think of Grace's kooky and selfish remarks about the toilet seat or the Paul Smith Fabulous Boot Foundation. I think that the character of Grace had a way of making characteristics that would seem annoying in other people seem rather cute and even a little sexy! What do other posters think?

I'd love to help you out with Grace, but she's my least favorite character on the show. Although she is necessary for the balance. Now Karen, Jack, Will, and Rosario are another story. And I love the way Karen and Rosario fight and really care for each other--a real dysfunctional and co-dependent relationship!!

At first I thought that the episode with the incident about the toilet seat was in the fifth season and so I ordered it from my local video store. Because I did not know the title of that particular episode, I read the summeries of each one and watched the ones that looked promising. It did "not" appear to be there! I thought that maybe I was wrong and that this episode was in season six. And so I bought season six. Because Leo was in this episode, I looked for all of the episodes with that actor listed as a guest star. I was unable to find it anywhere! I cannot "believe" that I imagined the whole incident. If anyone out there knows the title of this episode and what season it was in "'please' post your information here!" Thank you.
