I didn't find "Crime in the Schools" to be very believable

Things I did not find believable about this two-part show:

1. That big guys like that could get onto the schoolyard grounds so easily. Where's the yard duty? I went to a school in which there were always teachers serving yard duty and there was no way goons could just walk into it, especially again and again! And this was at the same time these episodes aired.

2. Drummond calls the school principal and he seems to do nothing. Still no yard duty to look out for the goons.

3. Even after they beat up Willis on the grounds, they are able to go back on the grounds completely without detection from any school staff.

I was around at the time and I happen to know that it could have not been that easy. Arnold's school must have had the worst security known to man.

i've never heard or seen of thise episode, what season is it in? it sounds not very believable and it seems like arnold's principals never seem to care or believe him about stuff happening at school.

I know what you are saying about school staff, there could have never been two grown ass man who could just walk in a school yard and terrorize two kids without some adult seeing them in real life. so i think it was unbelievable too

I wonder if it has to do with the fact that it was the 80's and things are more tight as far as security goes these days? That is my guess.

I still think adults were in the schoolyard in the 800's besides kids which made it unbelievable

Absolutely right. Like I said, I was in elementary school at the same time Arnold was and there were plenty of teachers doing yard duty.

Right, there was not a such thing is having kids in a schoolyard with no kind of adult supervision

Maybe the writers wanted us to use out imagination. No supervision in a New York City public school? I wonder if the research was really accurate during the provided there was any at all???
