Kelsey Grammer's grandfather tried to convince him his family was cursed after he lost his father, sister and two brothers in tragic circumstances. The actor's dad was shot dead in 1968 when Grammer was just 13. Seven years later his sister was raped and murdered - and in 1980 his twin brothers both died in a scuba diving accident.

The Frasier star says, "Those early losses took a big bite out of any joy. It was very hard. I was disconsolate. I tried to understand why people I loved died. Why did they have to suffer? There is no uplifting answer. My grandfather on my father's side said he thought the family was cursed."

It does seem like his family has had some very bad luck in the past. Hopefully that luck will change for the better.
