Another food for thought poll. A joke in the funnies today (Hi & Lois - punch line being that in the comics, problems are solved in 2 panels) prompted me to think: I have heard a number of people make the comment that on sitcoms, everything is "solved in 30 minutes." (Or you get one free - old Dominoes reference :-) And yet, that clearly isn't the case - sitcoms can take place over a day or two, sometimes a week goes by before the resolution, and it's just that short ont he screen.
So, are people taking that literally, or what? Becasue the complaints I've read in a few places almost make it seem like they are. Is it not thinking while watching, is it maturity of the poster on a board, or what? |
