'My Superman' (A new fan fiction)

"I don't get why we gotta know all of this junk!" Jo Polniziack said as she flipped through the pages of her history book while staring at the words with a confused look on her face. "I used to think the same exact thing when I was your age." Mrs. Garett replied. "But then I learned how far you would get if you totally neglect your schoolwork." she continued. Jo turned to her. "And?" Jo asked wanting her to go on. "Nowhere." Mrs. Garett replied, which caused the opposite answer of which Jo was excpecting.

At that moment Blair Warner stepped into the room gracefully with her blonde hair bouncing as she moved. "Hello, all!" she said as though her life were perfect. "Hello, Blair." Mrs. Garett said as she began to take kitchen tools out of the cabinet while preparing to make lunch for the school. "How is your day so far?" Mrs. Garett continued. "Oh..perfect. Fantastic. Magnificent. Marvalous.." she began to reply as Jo cut her off. "Something botherin ya?" Jo asked in a sarcastic tone. "The opposite." Blair replied as she sighed and strolled out of the room passionately. Mrs. Garett stared at Jo and nodded. "She met a new guy." they both said at the same time.

Blair sat down on her bed in the bedroom and seemed to be holding a wallet sized photo of a boy in her hand. He looked about her age, 16. Light blonde hair which was, for a change, parted in the middle, which Blair thought was quiete elegant for a change. He was wearing a black suit and had baby blue eyes. The silence was broken when Natalie walked into the room with Tootie.

"Hi Blair." Natalie said. "Uh..what are you doing?" Tootie said. There was no response from Blair. Natalie walked up to her and waved her hand in Blair's face. "Blair? Snap outta it! Your in open eye a coma!" Natalie panicked. Tootie chuckled. "Huh? Oh. Hi." Blair said cluelessly. "Wow..who is that guy in the picture?!" Tootie said. "Chris..Christopher..whatever you want to call him. All names suit him beautifully. "Heyyy I gotta do homework!" Tootie said, making an excuse to leave. "I gotta go um..pull the weeds from Mrs. Garett's garden!" Natalie said pointlessly as they both left leaving Blair and the picture of Chris alone.

"I can't wait til he comes and picks me up! We're going to this fancy restaurant down the street!" Blair explained to Mrs. Garett and the girls as she paced back and forth waiting for him to knock on the door. "Uh..Blair don't you think your getting just a little too excited over this guy? From what he sounds like I think he's.." Jo began to speak but was interrupted when someone knocked on the door. "It's him!" Blair said as she hurried to open the door.

The same boy who was in the picture Blair was holding was standing at the doorstep. "Chris! Please, come in!" Blair said. "Thanks." Chris said as he entered the home. Blair introduced all of them to Chris, and Jo seemed to be rather surprised at Chris. He was not like all the other boys that Blair had ever dated before. "So..you like bikes?" Jo said, wanting to start a conversation. "Well..not necessarily. I'm more into Porsh's." Chris replied. Blair smiled. "So where are you two going Chris?" Natalie said. "Oh..the Latiffa Cafe." Chris said as Jo chuckled. "Nice name. You guys sure it isn't located in Sibiria?" she said. Chris chuckled.

"Nah. Though I'd love to go to Siberia with Blair." Chris said as Blair turned red. "Well..shall we be going Blair? We don't want our reservations to get late." Chris said. "Sure! Let's go." Blair said as she picked up her coat and Chris assisted it onto her. "Now remember, be back by ten!" Mrs. Garett said, leaving Blair ignoring her as Chris helped her out the door. Before they knew it, they were gone.

Later that night at about nine, Jo walked into her bedroom and picked up her helmet and began to carefully scrub and examine it, but she couldn't. Something was bothering her. Something big..but she wasn't sure if it was bad or good. It was like..both. The good part of it was that she was deeply in love. Love at first sight, she called it. But the bad part..was he was taken. By Blair. Jo then made it clear to herself. She was in love with Chris.

Jo sat on the bed in surprise thinking about her situtation. She never had any sorta of love for any of Blair's boyfriends -- so why now? She knew she was deeply in love with him, but she just didn't know why. Was it the way he acted? The way he dressed? The way he looked? That was the question Jo was pondering about.

"I'm home everyone!" Blair said as she walked into the house and shut the door after her letting out a sigh. "Blair! How was the date?" Mrs. Garett asked. "Perfect! He was so sweet and nice to me! He even bought be an extra strawberry milkshake without me having to even ask! It's like he can read my mind!" Blair said. She sat down on the couch and stroked her hair. Natalie and Tootie came running in a few seconds later.

"Well? What did you do?" Tootie asked. "Oh god..here comes the Peanut Gallery." Blair said pathetically. "Answers! Answers! To our Questions! Questions!" Natalie said. "No commment! No comment! No answers! No answers!" Blair said sarcastically as she wne upstairs, finding Jo laying down. "Hi Jo." Blair said. Jo got up. "Hey! How was the date?" Jo asked. "Fantastic! Chris is perfect! He's so..so..hes like my everything!" Blair said. "I know." Jo replied as Blair turned around stunned. "What?" Blair asked. "Oh..um.." Jo said trying to think of something to say.

"You don't mean to tell me that..." Blair said, almost as though she wasn't willing to admit the truth. "You..love him..." Blair continued quietly. Jo just sat there. "I don't belive you!! Finally when I find the perfect guy you go after him! What is with you?!" Blair said, almost yelling. Jo then started yelling also. "Ya know I gotta live and the freedom to like whoever I want without Miss Warner chasing after me belive it or not!" Jo said. "Not when we all know he will never like you back! He is mine Jo! Face it!!" Blair yelled as she stormed out of the room.

Jo sat there like someone had just stabbed her with a knife. Blair Warner just showed her all the rage that she had..and Jo did not do one thing but make a stupid combat. Jo thought for a little bit and then rose from her bed. "She thinks she can get away with insulting me like that with nothing?" Jo spoke to herself. It was obvious that she was getting extremely mad at everything. Blair..the fact that Chris loves Blair..but should she get mad? It isn't like Chris is going out with her instead of Blair..even though she wants it to be that way deep inside.

"Aye!" Jo yelled as she came down the stairs into the kitchen. "What do you want?" Blair said like what Jo just said was nothing to her. "Your gonna pay for that junk you talked to me up there!" Jo yelled. Blair chuckled. "Talked to me? Ha! Haven't you ever gone to grammar school." She said as she paused. "Oh..wait! I get it! You never had enough money!!" Blair explained. All of the sudden Jo jumped out at Blair and punched her in the face, causing her to fall over and Mrs. Garett, Natalie and Tootie to come racing in the kitchen.

"Jo what in the world were you thinking?!" Mrs. Garett said to her. Jo practically had tears in her eyes from what Blair said. "Did you hear what she said to me Mrs. Garett?!" Jo said as she had the same expression as she usually did while crying. "Jo..I know Blair can be well..mean sometimes.." Mrs. Garett said as Jo interrupted her. "Always!" Jo said. "Jo, calm down! I am sure Blair has to have a reasonable explanation for the way she is to you!" Mrs. Garett said, trying to settle Jo's problem. "Yeah! I like Chris! That's why!" Jo said. Mrs. Garett sat in silence.

"Your eyes so swelled up!!" Tootie said as she examined Blair's black and blue eye from Jo's punch. "How did it feel?" Natalie said. "It hurt too much for words!" Blair said as she flopped down onto her bed. "I remember when this happened before Jo came! It was much worse than this!" Tootie said. "Don't remind me, Tootie!" Blair said. All of the sudden they heard a knock on the door from downstairs.

Mrs. Garett opened it and there was Chris. "Hey..is Blair home?" Chris asked as she saw Jo crying. "You ok?" He said as he sat next to her. "Oh..yeah I'm fine." Jo sad as Blair came down the stairs. "Chris!" Blair said, totally forgetting about her eye. Chris turned to her and then paused. "Blair..what happened?" Chris asked.

"Well...it's a long story." Blair said as she faced Jo. "Wait a second, you don't mean to say that..you two had a fight. Do you?" Chris asked as though he didn't want to. The two girls stared at each other. Chris rose from the couch "Well..I know what its about, now." Chris asked. "Right?" He continued. There was a long pause. "Over me?" Chris asked quietly. Blair put her head down as Jo just sat there. "Well...I better go. See ya." Chris said hurridly as he wanted to get out of the house as fast as he could. "Wait!" Blair said, but it was too late. He had left.

The next morning, Blair sat on her bed and looked out the window. She thought about Chris and if he was or wasn't mad at her. So, she decided to call him. She rose from her bed but suddenly Jo walked into the room. Blair rolled her eyes and walked right past her and went to her dresser where he phone was located. She picked it up and dialed Chris. The phone was rining..but there was no answer. It rang again, no answer. Until the answering machine went on.

Blair hung up furiously. "Where is he?!" She said to herself as Jo rambled through her bike parts looking for a specific peice. Jo then stopped as Blair spoke. "Don't you do anything but look at those stupid peices of metal?" Blair said. "Want one up close in your face?" Jo threatened. Blair gave a pathetic look and went downstairs.

"Hi Mrs. Garett. Have you heard from Chris?" Blair asked. Mrs. Garett was turned around. She turned to her and her face was white and pale. "Mrs. Garett..what's wrong?" Blair asked. Mrs. Garett responded after a long pause. "Blair..Chris isn't going to be able to talk to you...anytime soon." She said quietly. Blair stared at her, still not understanding what was going on. "They....found pills in his room..." Mrs. Garett said as her face went even paler. "And Chris." She said and then stopped. After a matter of seconds, Blair understood what she was saying and tears formed in her eyes.

The two girls stood there. Outside, at the spot where Chris' coffin was to be laid. Tears were in both their eyes as friends and familes of Chris were huddled around mourning and crying. Blair looked up at Jo and stared then looked back at the coffin of Chris. "Christopher Malone was tragically taken from this world on this day by God. Friends, family, Christopher will always be in our hearts and souls always. May the body of this young man rest in peace..amen. Music then played as the bundle of people began to depart, except Blair and Jo.

Blair looked down at the coffin and saw it lowered into the ground. Jo stared at the coffin with sadness, not believing that the beautiful well mannered man she and Blair loved was now...dead. Jo didn't want to think of Chris to be dead, but...this time...there was no other option or way to think of it.

Blair then couldn't control herself as she collapsed into Jo's arms, requiring Jo to catch her as she stodd her back up. "Jo I'm sorry.." Blair said while sobbing. Jo was shocked. What was she sorry for? She thought. Jo didn't know what to do. "Uh..it's okay, Blair. It's okay..." Jo said as the two began departing from the grave of Christopher Malone.

About one week had passed. Blair was rumbling through her closet looking for her History textbook. She found a couple hair brushes..peices of clothing that didn't fit her anymore..and then something curious. A necklace. An odd one..a giant S was on the front of it, logoing 'Superman'. Blair suddenly had many flashbacks instantly. All the walks in the park with Chris..the dates..the flowers..everything. And the S was the perfect thing with resembled Chris. For Blair, Chris was her superman. She picked the superman necklace and placed it onto her neck. She did not care if anybody noticed she had a child's role model logo on her neck..because it wasn't. To Blair...it was Christopher Malone.

Jo then walked into the room. She paused and saw the necklance on her neck. She stopped to think for a while. "Natalie's?" She asked. "No..not Natalie's." Blair responded. "Then why are you wearing that kiddy necklace?" Jo asked. "It isn't a kiddy necklace...it's Chris." Blair said. Jo smiled as she understood everything..Chris would forever remain in both their hearts.
