Default Where Were You When You Heard Princess Diana Died?

The 10th Year Anniversary is approaching in a few days. Even though she was British, she had worldwide appeal. Her death was shocking and sad. I was just curious where were you when you heard of her passing?

Here I go. I know this story like the back of my hand:

I was on my way to the emergency room. I had just been attacked/bitten by a dog. I was bitten on my leg. On the way to the hospital the radio station deejay starting taking requests for songs and this young girl stated she had no request, but that she just heard Princess Diana died. The deejay said words to the effect of "Are you serious?" and then he stated that he had no word of this. He stated to the listening audience that no word had been received therefore, if this was a joke, it was a sad and sick joke.

At the hospital it was confirmed. The television was on in the hospital room and that God-awful crash scene was shown. I was crying. No longer from the pain I was in, but for the loss of such a wonderful, caring and beautiful lady.

My girlfriend, (now my wife) came over my apartment to cook for me and she screamed Diana was dead. I swear, at first I thought she meant Diana Ross.

So true, I didn't realize how great a woman she was until she died. She did so much for charity.

Oh wow. Even that would be shocking to hear.

The BBC channel is airing specials this weekend and all this week. Also, Greta Van Susteran has a special. It already aired earlier, but I missed it. I wasn't home. I hope to catch it again tonight. I am sure it will repeat many times. I can't get enough of Diana, Princess of Wales. I collect magazines and books on her. I grew up watching her go from dating Charles to marrying him and of course through all her happy times and bad times. I watched the wedding. Boy, were we fooled or what? I still carry some hate in my heart towards Charles for what he did (or didn't do ) in that marriage. What a jerk.

I agree, Prince Charles and the Queen treated Diana like dirt. She did make a breathtaking bride though.

I have a book on the wedding of Charles and Diana. It is different when I look at it now, knowing how it all ended. But she was thee most beautiful bride I have ever seen. Such a flawless beauty.

I was watching "Talk Soup" on the E! network. At the bottom of the screen it said that Princess Diana has died. At first, I thought it was a joke from "Talk Soup." You know they had a crazy sense of humor. But I thought, "That's not funny." It pretty much became clear to me within a matter of seconds that it was for real.

She was asked years later abt her choice for her wedding dress. Diana said if she was choosing a wedding dress now, THAT wedding dress would not be the style she would choose.

I think I was watching t.v. when the news came on...so sad

My Mom looks like Princess Diana...she's gotten the comparison a lot.

not sure; but I think I was watching the news and they said it. To this day; I still can't understand why people were so upset and some people were crying.
