Default Fun Facts about the Movie "ROCKY"

When Producers got the script, they had no idea who Stallone was and had mistaken him for a blonde hair blue eyed Perry King. When the producers later met Stallone, they almost backed out

Stallone spent so much time punching the frozen sides of beef in the training scene that his knuckles were permantely disfigured

Rocky was the First Movie to ever use the Stedicam which was invented by Philadelhia's Garret Brown.

The Two scenes with Rocky running up the musuem steps was filmed two hours apart, before and after sunrise.

The Fight between Rocky and Apollo Creed was filmed in Reverse Order. The actors started in heavy makeup in Round 15 and then went backwards to Round 1. Many Credit this as the reason ROCKY won an Oscar for berst Editing.

Information came from "The Great Book of Philadelphia Sports Lists" by Glen Macnow and Big Daddy Graham, 2006

That steady-cam that you referred to in your post is the very camera that most shows like "Cops" use when there is a lot of action and motion. Remember you asked abt how can the camera man run with the camera? Well, there it is.

Here is another fun fact:

BETTE MIDLER AS ADRIAN?

In a 1980 interview, superstar Bette Midler revealed that she'd been considered for the role of Adrian. She explained: "One supporting role I should have taken, if my then-manager hadn't turned it down, was the Talia Shire role in Rocky. I'd still like to work with Sylvester Stallone. There's something about those beefy Italians that turns me on. But when he sent over the Rocky screenplay, my manager told me it was a nice role, a nice movie, but not for me. When I saw Rocky, I was really sad that I'd lost the chance to play that girl."
