Default Wonder why this show is so rarely seen?

Although I don't receive American Life Network on Directv--despite my many letters and calls, I hate to see the show leave the air.

And a random search doesn't seem to find the show airing anywhere!

I wonder why a classic show like this with nice storylines doesn't find a home on national cable. I think it ran briefly on Hallmark (or Odyssey as it was known) a few years back, but maybe only once a week!

Wish I had taped it years ago when I was recording others shows on video--at least I could watch them and hope for DVD release. At this point I might even be happy with a "Best Of" Collection from Courtship.

The show was too short-lived to be on national cable, it only had 3 seasons. Maybe local stations would be better fit for the show but defintely not cable unless they were having a short-lived sitcom marathon

You can get all three seasons on dvd at iOffer.com, just enter the name of the show. I got my set from there and the quality is very good.

The show actually has aired quite a bit in syndication over the last 15-20 years for it only running for 3 seasons. WWOR, TNT, TBS, Odyssey, Turner South and AmericanLife have all aired it.

Solomon, if you're talking about "THE NANCY WALKER SHOW" which was on ABC in the late 70s; I haven't seen it since then, but from what I remember you're not missing very much!

I still don't recall CBN rerunning Nancy Walker--not saying it didn't.
I for one would love to see "Blanky's Beauties"

In my area, the local "My Network TV" channel currently airs two episodes of Courtship every Sunday morning. They're going through Season 3 right now, which in my opinion is just not as good as the first two.

My favorite episodes are probably those guest-starring Yvonne Craig and Lori Saunders (1 ep each), along with Norman nearly marrying Tina. It's a quality series.

I can only speculate that at only 3 seasons in length, channels are not in the habit of running it -- as opposed to long-running series, which can go for months and months at even 5 or more episodes per week (before reaching the end and re-starting).

Back in the day, there was no such thing as "double pumping" or "double running" long running sitcoms, so often a show like Beverly Hillbillies would take months, if not a year,to actually go from episode 1 to series end. Shorter run series like Courtship actually seemed like a nice decent spring replacement or summer replacement sitcom for stations to air.

it was weird how they tried to make Nancy Blanksy, Howard Cunningham's cousin on Happy Days during the second anniversary (or third anniversary) show. HD was set in the '50s, while BB was set in the '70s (As far I remember). So, some reference books try to list BB as a spinoff of HD!
