my new fanfic "i will remember you"

okay, now i know i just did the preveiw for this but i really want to start it.

(Blair, Jo, Nat, and Tootie all walk into the kitchen)

B- honestly jo, i'm just asking you for one little favor.
J- (gives her a look) blair, i don't consider going on a blind date a little favor.
B- jo, don't you want...
N- a mate?
J- no i do not want a mate, i'm perfectly happy with eddie right now.
B- (whines) but todd is so much better than eddie! i'm doing this to help you jo.
T- yeah who knows! maybe you two will really hit it off.
J- listen, i don't want to "hit it off" with anybody but eddie understand? the answer is NO.
B- (rolls eyes) okay, okay. but don't say i don't make and effort to give you a...(thinks for a minute) life.
J- cool it warner!
(phone rings)
B- oh, i'll get it..it's probebly todd...i'll just have to tell him that you are seeing someone else. (as she is walking out) which is pretty hard to believe.
J- i am gonna loosen that girl's teeth!
N- jo, jo, jo. you know you love her.
J- (gives her a look)
N- (grabs tootie) come on tootie, this isn't our place. (both run upstairs.)
B- (picks up phone and in a flirty voice..)hello? oh hi mother! i'm doing just fine how are you? oh, why what happened? (face turns pale) w...what? but..but..how? you can't be serious. are you sure it was her? oh, i see. what? oh, y..yes..i'm fine. no that won't be necessary. alright. bye. (slowly hangs up the phone)
J- (walks in-she didn't hear the conversation) so was that todd?
B- no..it...wasn't todd.
J- (sees that blair looks upset) who was it?
B- i..i..
J- Blair..sit down.
B- (sits down on the couch)
J- what's goin' on?
B- jo...that was my mother.
J- is she okay?
B- yes..she's fine. but...B..beth..isn't. (face turns very red and she runs upstairs)

J- (to herself) who's beth?
N+T- (walk in)
N-oh beth? i'm pretty sure that's blair's good friend from back home. why?
J- oh, no reason. i just heard Blair talking about her and i was wondering.
T- oh, okay. Jo take a look at this! (is looking at a magazine)
J- uh..later tootie. i have to go ask blair a question.
N- reconsidering about going out with todd?
J- who? oh, no. (goes upstairs)
(((Upstairs)))
J- (knocks on door-but hears no reply so just walks in to see blair sitting on her bed looking at a picture) uh...blair?
B- (didn't notice she had come in-quickly wipes tears away from her eyes) oh jo, i didn't see you come in. (puts picture away)
J- blair...what's going on?
B- i don't really want to talk about it. it'll get me too upset and i'll probebly mess up my eye makeup.
J- oh, don't worry you already did that. (smiles)
B- well, alright. this is kind of hard for me but...
J- (puts hand on her shoulder) you can talk to me.

B- (cracks a small smile) i know. well...before i came to eastland...i was very close with a girl named beth cohen. we would spend hours, days, sometimes even a week just hanging out together and talking about "girl stuff". (tears rolls down her cheek and she starts to stutter) t..to..today beth...got in a..c..car acc..accident and she...d...di..(bursts out into tears without finishing her sentence)
J- (Hugs blair) come on blair, try to calm down. i'm here.
B- (still crying) jo, i..i..can;t calm down. i..ca..can't believe this. i..never got to say goodbye. (cries on jo's shoulder)

B- (let up a little bit) i know..it's just...oh i don't know.
J- it's okay. i know how you feel. i've been in a similar situation before. (hears mrs.g call for dinner) look i have to go eat dinner.
B- alright. tell mrs. garett that i will eat later.
J- sure. try to relax okay? i'll be back later.
B- (nodds)
(((Downstairs)))
MG- jo, where's blair?
T- yeah i haven't seen her since she got off the phone.
N- yeah, me either. where is she?
J- oh, well she's upstairs. she's not very hungry right now though.
MG- well, that's no excuse. she still should come down here. i'll go get her.
J- uh..mrs.g. leave her alone right now okay?
MG- (turns around) why...what happened?
T- yeah what happened?
J- i don't know if she really wants me to spread this around...but...
MG- jo, we can't help her if we don't know.
T- i swear i won't tell anybody!
N- jo...what's going on?
J- her friend...beth i think...well she was in a car accident and didn't exactly make it.
MG- oh dear...is blair alright?
J- far from it.
N- can we (as in her and tootie) talk to her for a minute?
J- well, i guess so. i mean..(sees that they are already half way up the stairs) nevermind.
N+T- (walk in)
T- hi blair.
B- (doesn't reply)
N- are you okay blair? we heard what happened and we feel awful.
B- don't feel bad. it isn't your fault.
T- blair, is there anything we can do for you right now?
B- no...thank you though.
N+T- (hug her and then go back downstairs)
J- how's she doing?
N- not so great.
T- i just wish there was something we could do to help her!
J- hey, wait a second...maybe there is!

T- how can we do that?
N- yeah, i mean we can't bring beth back!
J- blair was saying something about how she never got to say goodbye...
MG- not to interupt but...i don't see what you're getting at jo.
T- yeah, i mean i hate to say it jo...but we can't talk to her.
J- maybe we can. (runs upstairs)
N- (sees tootie and mrs.g looking at her)well don't look at me! i mean, how am i supposed to know what jo's talking about!
J- (comes running back downstairs with a deflated balloon) here we go.
MG- (concerned) jo...may i ask what you're doing...PLEASE!
J- (takes a small piece of paper and sticks it inside the balloon and then blows it up and smiles)
T- (whispers to Natalie)what's she trying to say?
N- i still don't know.
J- (laughs) don't you see?
(all shake their heads)
J- look, blair writes whatever she wanted to say to beth and then puts it inside the balloon.
N- yeah...
J- so...the balloon will float up!
T- balloons usually do...
J- well, maybe it will...float up to beth in heaven...

T- (looks at jo) jo, that's really sweet...but i honestly don't think that...well...i just...(sighs) nevermind.
J- look tootie, i know what you're thinking. and believe it or not, i'm thinking the same thing. but hey, you never know. (walks upstairs)
(((In their room)))
J- blair...i was just thinking. well...you know how you said you never actually got to say goodbye to beth...
B- Jo please...i don't need this. I'm upset enough already.
J- wait, just listen. well, i'm thinking that maybe you can say goodbye to her.
B- (stares at jo blankly) jo...what are you trying to say?
J- look, i'll explain after. just write down whatever you want to say to her okay? (hands her a piece of paper and a pen)
B- jo, i don't know...
J- blair...please.
B- well alright.
J- (starts to leave)
B- wait.
J- (turns around)
B- will..you maybe stay. to sort-of..help me write this. i mean, i don't know where to start.
J- (smiles) sure.
(((Back downstairs)))
T- i don't know if this whole balloon thing is a good idea. it will just end up getting blair even more upset than she already is.
MG- tootie, you need to have hope. i mean, who knows!
T- (shrugs) yeah i guess you're right.
(((Back upstairs)))
B- (writing the note when a tear rolls down her cheek)
J- How ya doing?
B- jo, i can't do this. (another tear)
J- you want to stop? blair...do you really want to give up your last chance to say something to her?
B- you're right. (takes a deep breath and continues writing)
(((About a half hour later)))
B- done. (hands the piece of paper to jo)
J- good.
B- now will you please tell me what you are doing?
J- (smiles) i'd be more than happy to. (starts to fold the piece of paper untill it is tiny)
B- jo...(looks confused)
J- (sticks the piece of paper inside a deflated balloon and then blew it up and tied it.) well, here it is. our passage way to heaven!
B- i think i get it now. (smiles)
J- alright...you ready?
B- as i'll ever be.
J- okay, come on. (both go downstairs)
(((downstairs)))
J- nat! tootie! we're sending the note!
N- ooooh coming!
T- yeah me too! be right there!
(all walk outside)
B- well...here we go. (lightly kisses the balloon and then lets it go)
(all stand quietly for a minute or two)
B- (yawns)
J- come on...let's go inside. i think you need some sleep. it's been a long day.
B- yeah i guess so.
J- (puts arm around blair and they walk inside and back upstairs so that they can go to sleep)

(about one week later- blair and jo are taking a walk outside)
B- (laughing) yeah, that was hilarious. i especially loved the part when...(stops in mid-sentence) jo...look.
J- (confused) what? (then she looks down to see a pink balloon with a folded up note inside of it) do..you think? i mean...
B- i..i don't know.
J- well...we better find out. (picks up the balloon) Blair let me borrow your bobby pin.
B- (nodds and takes it out of her hair and gives it to jo)
J- (pops the balloon) here. you can..take out the note. (hands her the popped balloon)
B- (smiles and slowly takes out the note and reads it)
J- well..what does it say?
B- (looks a little teary-eyed...but is smiling at the same time) it says...goodbye blair. remember me always as i will remember you. you will always remain in my heart. love always, beth. (smiles again and hugs jo)
