Default Just for Fun

On August 6th, I posted a message called "To Move or not To Move". This message already has "six" responses! Four of these responses are from other fans and two are my responses to their responses. In any event, one thing that I pointed out in one of these posts is that, in a way, the writers were wise in keeping them in the old, over-crowded, house because they could make "countless" future episodes about the house being too small and fights to get into the bathroom. I thought that it might be fun for each fan to list a different episode and explain why the size and design of the house was a significant factor. I will start it off with, "Jan, the Only Child:"

This episode took place in the fourth season (long after "To Move or not To Move"). In this episdoe, we find Jan bellyaching about how little privacy she has, how little time she gets to spend on the phone and how her brothers and sisters are always borrowing her things. She wishes that she could be like her friend Donna who is an only child. If my memory is correct, the show starts by giving the viewers three examples of the types of frustrations that Jan has because of how big a family she has. One of these is Peter in the Jack and Jill bathroom brushing his teeth and Jan poinding on the door on her side telling him that she has to go. After Peter is finely finished, he opens the door and sarcasticially says "here you go you highness"! While Jan is rolling her eyes at his sarcasism, Cindy runs past her and closes the door. It is my understanding that, back in the episode in which they were going to buy the bigger house, there were going to be two children's bathrooms. One for the boys and one for the girls. If they had gone ahead with it, this would have reduced by three the number of people Jan had to fight with in the bathroom department! This might not have solved the problem of Jan wishing that she were an only child, but it would have cut down on one of the symptoms!

Mike is only teaching them to share. And they loved the house too much to move.

Let's not forget that they had a chance to move but spooked their way out of it!
