I am calling this post "Larry" as a tribute to the late husband of an actress that I am "very" curious about! The Larry that I am referring to is Larry Rhine and he did a lot of writing for shows such as "The Brady Bunch" and "All in the Family". In 2000, he died leaving behind a wife and two children. Like many famious women, his wife kept her maiden name, at least for the sake of the media. I have expressed my curiousity about her on the "Gimme a Break!" page of this site. By the way, the actress that I am referring to is Hazel Shermet. Being that only season one of "Gimme a Break!" is out on DVD in this country, I am only able to obtain two episodes in which she appeared. I thought that she did a "great" job of playing the roles that she played on this show! In the second season of this show, she played the part of a woman titled "woman at party". I am "very" anxious to obtain this on DVD! In any event, it is my understanding that she also appeared twice on "The Facts of Life". By the why, I own all three of the seasons that have been released on DVD. The first time that she appeared was in season two and she played a saleslady. I "really" liked the part that she played in this episode! I am not sure what episode she played in next or when and if it is due to be released on DVD. In any event, I have surfed the Internet and have found surprising little about Hazel Shermet (or her late husband)! I would be "very" interested in hearing from anyone who knows anything about her or who could point me in the direction of more information! Take care.

Hey! I looked up Hazel Shermet on the Internet Movie Database and found out that the second episode she was in was season three's "Green-Eyed monster", which you should have on DVD. She played Miss. Downes. She was also in a lot of other classic TV shows such as Punky Brewster, I Dream of Jeanie, The Addams Family and The Beverly Hillbilles among others. Hope I could help.

I would say that the last poster on this thread raised a "very" good point! There are several reasons why I am as interested as I am in Hazel Shermet. The frist reason is that I "really" like the parts that she has played on "Gimme a Break!" and "The Facts of Life"! I think that she did a "very" good job of selling herself in the roles that she was in! If anyone would like to know more about the parts that I liked her in "Gimme a Break!", they can go to that section of this sight. I posted a "bunch" of things about her there! There are certain things about the way the she talks and her overall mannerisms that appeal to me. I especially like when she puts her hand on her hip!
Many psychologists and phychiatirsts will say that the best way to get someone to want something is to telling him or her that they cannot have it! This explains why so many people became Christian during Roman times. Also, statistics show that the time that Church attendence was highest in Poland was the time in which the Communist Government was the strictest. As soon as the government softened up, the romance and spirit of rebellion was gone and the practice of Catholosism went downhill. I guess you could say that the same it true with myself and Hazel Shermet. Because there is so little information about her, I want it that much more! Finely, there is the fact that her late husband Larry Rhine did a lot of writing on shows that I especially enjoyed. These shows include "The Brady Bunch" and "All in the Family". I would be "very" interested in knowing what their marraige was like and what the story of their two children is! I hope that this answers the question of the last poster. |
