I can't believe they are releasing this before "Here Come The Munsters". This was the worst Munsters Cast IMO. Hopefully, "Here Come the Munsters" is next on dvd.

What really upsets me, though, is the fact that we were questioned by Execs at Universal a few years ago about what we'd like to see as extras on the Season 2 release of "The Munsters" (via Butch Patrick's website). All of these movies were mentioned many times over, and they've gone and released all of them seperately in order to get more money. I'll probably buy it anyway because it's The Munsters. Edward Hermann was the quintessential Herman, though.

What gets me is, how do they know it was the closest to the original? I thought Here Come The Munsters was closer to the original series. I was disappointed that in both movies they used a different house instead of the one that is still on the Universal lot. I'll probably pick this movie up too.

I didn't like quite a bit of the story in "Here Come the Munsters", but cohesively it was a much better attempt. The house didn't bother me, but I didn't like that they were visitors at 1313 Mockingbird Lane and they were acting as if they'd never been there before. I liked having Grandpa's lab under the staircase, and I liked that Eddie turned into a werewolf when the full moon was out.

Edward Hermann was so amazing as Herman I couldn't see anyone doing better. If the story had been written better and the marketing better (I hated the type treatment for the movie's logo, credits, etc.) "Here Come the Munsters" could have been a feature film. The costumes were great as well. I also liked that they gave Marilyn parents.

In "The Munsters' Scary Little Christmas", all of the characters were wrong. Grandpa was the best, but he still wasn't stellar. Lily was terrible, and Herman was neon green. Sam McMurray has been in several films in the past, and I knew it was him. He looked like he had on a Halloween costume. I also don't know why the main staircase in the mansion had about 5 stairs.

When this movie debuted the year after "Here Come the Munsters", I thought that the cast would be the same and it was a sequel of sorts (that would've been better), but I was terribly mistaken.

Sandy Baron was a scary looking Grandpa.

After I typed my last post I went to watch the movie again and you are so right. All of those characters were completely wrong. Grandpa's nose was ridiculous. Maybe they were going for the Nosferatu version of Dracula?! Knowing Universal, they will probably release this movie on dvd, then "Here Come the Munsters" followed by the Ultimate Munsters giftset that will include all of this. They probably haven't released "Here Come the Munsters" due to some kind of legal issue (maybe with one of the actors). I cannot understand why that movie wasn't released first.
