Default Maude and Mary Hartman, Season 2 on DVD

These shows made their DVD debut this spring to much acclaim even tho the packaging for MH2 was cheap [and both shows were sans extras].

Will they release further episodes/seasons of these classic shows?

Other great shows not on DVD:

1. RHODA
2. PHYLLIS
3. THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW [via a real studio not Columbia House]
4. ELLERY QUEEN
5. MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW, Season 5
6. NO, HONESTLY [a Britcom]

Default 20th Century-Fox {News Corp.}...

...owns the rights to "THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW", "RHODA" and "PHYLLIS" (since they own what had been the MTM library), and they're not in any great hurry to issue those for home video...."ELLERY QUEEN" is part of the NBC/Universal library, and THEY'RE not eager to release a "single season" box set of a series very few people know about, considering most of their current executives are unaware Universal ever produced that series! Carol Burnett owns her own material; SHE'LL decide when it should be made available. "NO, HONESTLY"? I'm not sure about that....

I believe Fox has announced that no further seasons of The Bob Newhart Show or The Mary Tyler Moore Show will be forthcoming. Seems I read this somewhere online in several places. Therefore, I doubt Rhoda will be along any time soon. As for NBC/Universal, well they are famous for dropping shows after one season and also for simply not releasing shows at all.

Unless you are announcing information on a release, you might want to put a question mark after your title.

I knew Sony would screw Mary Hartman up. That show needed the tlc of a company like Shout!Factory or MPI which would give it and the fans the respect they deserve. MH is not some sitcom where a season suffices, it's a frigging soap opera. MPI released some 30 Dark Shadows box sets in a few years because they knew the fans are rabid and want all.

As for Maude and MHMH... considering who the company involved is, sadly I'm not that surprised. I am so disappointed about MTM and BNS... they were almost done. That is just pathetic.

Sony needs to just license out their classic tv catalog, hassel-free, so that a company who really cares about the product can give it the royal treatment.
