Default Cooking

The message that I am posting now is germaine to several issues that have been written about in the recent past. To start with, it seems a lot of people are interested in what the Brady's ate during different episodes. On top of this, I have posted a message regarding inconsistencies from episode to episode and have received several responses. Finely, in one of the messages about eating, someone mentioned the cooking badge that was earned by Marcia. I would now like to point out an inconsistency that is "also" related to eating! The episode that the first part of this inconsistency comes in is "The Grass is Always Greener". In this episode, both parents learn that it is no bargain being the opposite sex. Mr. Brady learns this after an afternoon in the kitchen with Marcia. The night before he is due to work with her, he goes to his den where he had stashed a set of beginner cookbooks. It is "very" strongly implied that, in the department of cooking, we was starting from the ground up! Futhermore, I would think that, after the disaster that he went through during that afternoon, he would have learned never to open his mouth about cooking again! Four years later, we have an episode called "Try, Try Again". In this episode, Mr. Brady gives his wife and Alice a lecture about how "too many chefs can spoil the broth". The women than challainge him to "put his apron where his mouth is". He then goes on about how much success he had in the kitchen in between the time that he left his family's home and the time that he got married for the first time. By the end of the episode, he dilvered on his offer by cooking for his family an entire gourmet dinner. What I cannot figure out is, if he had talent as a cook when he was a batchelor and he had talent as a cook after his second marraige was in its fourth year, why did he not have it any time in between?

He had several women cooking for him so maybe he got out of practice! I would think that if he was that good of a cook, he would have puttered around the kitchen a bit. I don't even think he barbecued.

Having him whip up a gourmet meal was pretty far-fetched.

Default Coincidence

By studying Madaime X's latest entry I noticied a "very" interesting coincidence! She lives in the same state as the headquarters of an organization that I am a long-time member of. The organization is the "National Psoriasis Foundation". I have been a member of this organization since the end of 1999. Last year I went to their annual conference which was held in Portland itself. Other years that I have been to their conference it was held in Boston, Chicago and Orlando. I guess that this just goes to show, "Its a Small World"!
