Default I heard "Once You Get Started" by Chaka Khan on the radio......

and immediately thought about the power going out in the Evans apartment.
Anybody else ever hear a song that reminds them of a scene from Good Times?

Now whenever I hear the Jacksons' "Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)", I think of Willona's disasterous party that ended in the return of Penny's birth mother. I'm sure that was intentional, as their sister Janet was a cast member at that time.

Whenever I hear "Pick Up the Pieces" by Average White Band these days, I always see pregnant Henrietta dancing to the record in Thelma's room. The episode you mentioned - was that when Flo won the record player and every time they used it, the power went off? Which season did that air?

I think that was season two Monika.

For me, anytime I hear Brass Construction's "Movin" I can't help but see that scene in my head of Florida reading that damn telegram telling her that James was killed. It never fails, that moment is burned in my memory.

Yeah, that Brass Construction song, when I hear that, it gives me a weird feeling cause that happy disco music is playing in the background while Florida is reading the terrible news.

Yeah, that's the episode with the record player.
That's funny about Henrietta, I hadn't thought about that one.

When I hear "Native New Yorker" by Odyssey, I see Thelma doing that modern dance at the talent show.

Same here. I wasn't a big fan of the song when it was released, but when I do hear it, I think of Thelma doing the dance.

Let me add, I also think of the Rent Party episode when I hear the Supremes song STOP IN THE NAME OF LOVE. I always see the ladies in my head singing that song. And of course, Florida's wig...

Oh my God , I forgot about that one! When I hear the Supremes, I always sing that part like Florida, all late and off beat with a deep voice.

Stop! in the name of love
Before you break my heart
Stop! in the name of love
Before you break my heart
Think it over
Think it over

I've tried so hard, hard to be patient
Hoping you'd stop this infatuation
But each time you are together
Im so afraid of losing you forever

I never heard this song before they sang it on Good Times and never heard it nowhere after I saw it on Good Times. When they sang it I was like, "What kinda song is this? Is this a real song, this is crazy!
