Actors/Actresses only known for playing one character? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

The first one that comes to mind is Roseanne. She only starred in her own sitcom, but then had a line of failed talk shows, which I really don't count, since they barely lasted 10 weeks.

Joyce DeWitt was only in Three's Company as far as I know. Tim Allen and Patricia Richardson were both only in Home Improvement. Then there's the whole cast of Full House

Not quite, Bob Saget did host America's Funniest Home Videos (If that counts) John Stamos was on General Hospital plus starred in E.R. and Jake in Progress. Lori Loughlin starred in The Edge of Night and Hudson Street.

I was being a bit sarcastic, but you're right. I guess Full House doesn't count, then.

Jimmie Walker - As far asd I know, he was only in "Good Times." Or at least, only found success with "Good Times." Of course, that goes for the three kids of that show as well, now that I think of it.

Elizabeth Montgomery - She will always be Samantha Stephens. I don't even know if she made any other shows besides "Bewitched."

Anson Williams - He's probably guest starred on other shows, but he's always going to be Potsie! His only major sitcom role (that I know of).

Desi Arnaz - He was in "I Love Lucy" (of course) but I can't think of anything else he's done (other than guest appearances).

Richard Crenna Died in 2003.

and Mary Kate and Ashley Olson also did some short-lived sitcom that was also on ABC.

"Two of a Kind" and "So Little Time..." were two shows. Not to mention their "The Adventures of Mary-Kate and Ashley" and "You're Invited To Mary-Kate and Ashley's..." These were TV Shows because I remember [esp] watching the adventure ones.

Tina Louise also was an original cast member of Dallas. She played JR's secretary Julie Grey. She wasn't on it long but her murder during the second season was a big part of the show and when Gilligan's Island and Dallas gathered at the TV Land award shows a few years ago she sat with the cast of Dallas.

Even though he was in other shows {didn't last too long}, Gil Gerard is best known for his role as 'Captain William "Buck" Anthony Rogers' in Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.

Harry Anderson was in Cheers as Harry The Hat, but best known as 'Judge Harold "Harry" T. Stone' in Night Court. Same for Markie Post, who lasted a few years on The Fall Guy, but fans preferred Night Court when she joined the cast permenately {she did a guest appearence in S2} as Public Defender Christine Sullivan.

And I'd say both David Duchuvony and Gillian Anderson are both best known for their roles as Agent Fox Mulder and Agent Dana Scully in The X-Files.
