Default Drew Carey Injured on 'Price' Set

Who knew that coming on down could be hazardous to your health?

New 'Price Is Right' host Drew Carey suffered an arm injury while rehearsing on the set. TMZ reports that it was his arm that was caught in a moving part of a grocery game.

Carey was taken to Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Hospital as a precaution but was released and returned to the set. New episodes of the game show staple began taping with Carey earlier this month.

Oh No He Has To Be More Careful

He was pretty lucky this time around; but he will have to be more careful in the near future. I'm looking forward to seeing him as the host but no matter how good he will be and everything; he will never be as great at it as
"Bob Barker" who will always be remembered and loved for being a host.

It's beginning to seem like Drew is cursed as the host of the Price is Right. All I've been hearing lately is bad publicity about him. Hope things get better!

Just for the record the show has not began production on the new season yet. As I have been saying the 1st show tapes on Wed the 15th!!! That part of the article is factually inaccurate.

Apparently what happened was they were rehearsing the grocery game & drew got just a little to close to the turntable & as the game was coming around the turntable, it clipped him. He will be in a cast for a few days but the word I am getting is that he will not have it on when he tapes the show for real starting wed.

I read the accident happened during a rehearsal, and fortunately the injury was minor. Anyone lucky enough to be in the area...here's some ticket info, taping and air dates. Has anyone ever been to a TPIR taping?

http://www.cbs.com/daytime/price/tickets/

TICKETS

The Price Is Right with DREW CAREY as its new host will begin taping shows on August 15. If you would like to request free tickets, you can select one of three options listed below. As a reminder, everyone must be at least 18 years of age to be in the studio audience.

Also, remember to watch Drew Carey in CBS’s prime time game show – Power of 10 – premiering Tuesday, August 7, (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) and airing at its regular time, Wednesdays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT).

OPTION ONE - Online ticketing
Advantages to Online ticketing:
* You can access and request ticket availability online without the wait.
* There is a maximum of four tickets per email address.
* You can confirm and print your request from your computer within minutes.
* You can obtain maps to the taping location.
* We will keep you up to date by email if changes in scheduling occur unless they are beyond our control.
* Please note that if you apply for tickets online but are unable to attend, email us at eyelab@tvc.cbs.com.

OPTION TWO - Write in your request for tickets.
* Send a self-addressed, stamped envelope, with a note specifying the date and quantity of tickets needed (maximum of 10 per written request).
* Send your request to: The Price Is Right Tickets, 7800 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90036. This is also the location where the show is taped -- at the corner of Beverly Blvd., and Fairfax Avenue.
* In your request for tickets, as there are two tapings per tape day, please specify the 1:15pm or 5:00pm taping.

OPTION THREE - Pick up tickets at our Ticket Booth.
* Tickets for the August shows will be available prior to the tapings and on the day of taping. Please call our Ticket Office, 323-575-2458, Monday-Friday, 9am – 5pm PST, for further information.

* Our Ticket Booth will be open on the tape days in August at 6:00am. On non-tape days, it is open Monday-Friday from 9am–5pm.

THE FOLLOWING APPLIES TO ALL HOLDERS OF TICKETS RECEIVED BY MAIL, INTERNET OR FROM OUR TICKET BOOTH.

Admission to the studio is on a first-come, first-served basis for those holding tickets. No ticket guarantees admission. You must be at least 18 years of age to attend a taping and you must bring a valid photo ID (i.e., driver's license or passport) and a document with your social security number on it such as an insurance card, pay stub, tax return or actual SS card. If you don’t have proof of your social security number with you it must be supplied within 30 days in order to claim any prizes. Either way, you will need to tell us your SS number during the processing at the studio in order to be a potential contestant. If you are from outside of the United States and do not have a Social security card, this will not be required as part of your I.D. For those from Canada, we accept the social insurance number in place of the United States’ social security number and you are eligible to be contestants.

If you need further information, please note the following numbers:

* Ticket Office: 323-575-2458, Monday-Friday, 9:00AM-5:00PM PST
* 24 Hour Ticket Info: 323-575-2449

Arrow UPDATE

TMZ has learned that Drew Carey was injured today on the set of "The Price is Right."

Sources on the set tell TMZ that today during rehearsals "Price's" new host got his arm caught in a game with some sort of rotating device. Wheel of misfortune!

Doesn't sound serious though -- we're told Carey was well enough to make his lunch appointment.

When we contacted his managers, all we were told was "He's fine and everything's OK." They had no additional info.

We've learned that Carey may see a doc this afternoon and could be back on the set later today.

One source told TMZ that Drew is back on the set, wearing a "soft cast." We're told a bruised bone is the diagnosis and he will return to see a specialist at a later date.

UPDATE: TMZ has learned that Drew got his arm caught in the revolving turntable on stage while rehearsing for the Grocery Game. While he was bruised up a bit, Carey is feeling wheely better. He's back at work joking around with crew members and even showing off his battle wounds on his iPhone! Come on down, Drew!

I think Drew Carey was a rotten choice to host Price Is Right. He's too much of a clown. I don't think he'll last that long. No way will he last 35 years like Bob Barker did. I give him more like 5 years tops and he'll be out. The only person who would have been a worse choice is Rosie O'Donnell.

I'm glad he wasn't seriously injured. I don't believe Bob Barker was ever injured on the set during his entire four decade tenure as host!

Except for the heavy set woman from Samoa who attacked him on stage. She won her prize and got a little too exuberant, lifted Bob up off his feet and gave him a big bear hug. I think Bob said the hug gave him sore ribs and a sore back. Ever since that incident he ran away each time a contestant tried to get near him and he was especially fearful of women from Samoa.

Drew Carey's Injury Pics

DREW CAREY, the new host of "The Price is Right," was hurt on the set during a rehearsal last week and ET has brand-new pics of his injuries, courtesy of the Los Angeles radio station, KROQ.

After the on-set incident on August 10, Drew was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. as a precaution and, after being treated, returned to the set to finish rehearsing. The actor was recently named as the replacement for BOB BARKER as the host of "The Price is Right." Barker retired in June after 35 years as the host of the daytime CBS staple.

Carey's most recent TV hosting gig was for "Whose Line is it Anyway" from 1998 to 2006. He also starred in his own sitcom, aptly named "The Drew Carey Show," from 1995 to 2004.
