Charolette also offers a helping hand to Nina when it comes to helping to raise Holly, and she ends up playing a "surrogate" mother to the teenage girl. Default Episodes

Episodes

Ep1: Pilot Episode: (An Hour Long Episode)
Jack and Karen are killed in a car crash on their way to watch Holly's soccer game. Nina and Charolette, along with Amber, Patrick, and Rayanne, attend the double funeral and pay their respects to an extremely devastated Holly, who personally blames her parents' deaths on herself. After the funeral, the late Fletchers' attorney, Sandra (Olivia Newton John) inform Nina (and Charolette) that it is her best interest to stop by her office this next morning first thing. Nina, along with support from Charolette, goes to speak with the attorney, who later informs them that Nina is named the legal guardian of teenager Holly. Nina and Charolette are stunned, shocked, and speechless by this new information. Nina begins to freak after fearing she doesn't know a thing about parenting or raising a teen--let alone a half-sister that she barely knew. Later, Holly's maternal grandmother, Rose (Gena Rowlands) is anything but speechless when she learns her only granddaughter is being sent to live with her son-in-law's twentysomething daughter (instead of herself). An upset and jealous Rose decides to put up a fight and decides to sue for custody of Holly, which only makes things worse when Charolette and Nina retatiate with help with Sandra. On a final note, the judge rules Nina with full custody of Holly, which breaks Rose's heart greatly.

Ep2: Move On In:
Nina and Charolette recruit Patrick, Amber, Rayanne, and Adam to help move Holly and her things into Nina's house. Holly meets and is welcomed by Nina's friends. Charolette deep down wants to have a talk with Holly about her feelings after she finds out where her parents were heading before the crash. Yet Charolette doesn't feel it is her place to step in, and decides to whisper in ear of Nina-who is oblivious to how she should conduct this little chat, but later ends up having a heart-to-heart with Holly, which ends in a tearful embrace. Also, Charolette enrolls Holly into her new high school in the different school district from her old school.

Ep3: Back To Basics:
Nina accidently oversleeps and causes Holly to become late on her first day at her new high school. Holly's tardiness is not approved by her strict homeroom teacher (Holland Taylor) who gives Holly a detention--who she is reunited with her former childhood best friend, Kari--who now has become one of the school's "bad seeds". However, Kari's tough exterior and rebellion decreases when she is befriended and reunited with Holly. Elsewhere, Amber gets Charolette and Patrick to cater an event at Robin's modeling agency welcoming one of their newest European models-Christian Dubois. Also, Patrick finds himself attracted to Christian and becomes frazzled when Christian wants to personally compliment the pastry chef on his creme brulee.

Ep4: Mixed Emotions:
Charolette begins to have mixed emotions when she finds out that Nina, Amber, and Patrick occasionally have overnight guest spending the night where Holly is staying (which might leave an impression on Holly). Nina becomes upset with her mother when Charolette suggests the trio to not be promscious now that Holly is living there with them. Elsewhere, Rayanne and Adam discuss seeing a marriage therapist after realizing their once-great marriage is now turning more and more rockier, since Adam's former college flame is hired as his supervisor at work, and Rayanne's insecurities and trust issues increase.

Ep5: Half-Baked Alaska:
Patrick must prepare an excellent Baked Alaska, which is one of his most difficult desserts to prepare. Patrick's patience and skills are put to a test, when Charolette bumps up the deadline for the challenging dessert much to his dismay. Elsewhere, Nina, Rayanne, and Amber find a baggie of marijuana stashed in the coffee shop's guys bathroom--which leads curiousity to run wild..ending up the three girls smoking it and getting more stoned than ever imagined. While under the influence of marijuana, Rayanne announces she and Adam are seeing a marriage therapist and that they haven't had sex for two months, also, Amber admits she had experimented with another girl while in college, and Nina admits she still has feelings for her notorious ex-boyfriend, Jeff--whom she is secretly talking to again.

Ep6: Bad News, No More?:
Holly and Kari arrange for Holly to spend the weekend with Kari at her house, where Kari's mom, Peggy (Wendie Malick) is estatic to meet Holly after many years, and in a private conversation with Holly, Peggy explains how Kari's changing for the better (since Holly re-entered her life again). Holly and Kari catch up on old times, which forces Holly to share with Kari about her parents' deaths and her current living arrangement. Elsewhere, against her friends' and her mom's approvals, Nina goes out to dinner with her ex, Jeff (Simon Rex). Nina's dinner date with Jeff goes surprisingly well, however, Nina fears Jeff's newfound attitude is just a facade or is only temporary (as Charolette, Amber, Patrick, and Rayanne have warned her).
