Default So, how would you do the 4th season?

I didn't mind parts of it - I actually liked Sweatside Story becuase, though Horshack and his lover were only high school seniors, they wouldn't be the first to elope, but it should have been after the prom. let's say they can't be found for graduation practice, and they figure out where they are, and all go to see them. Although, a prom night proposal as a finale would also have been okay. (Horshack drinking, though, was just...too out of character. Why couldn't they have had Beau doing that?)

However, my question is more, what would *you* have done to make the fourth season work? You wn't have Gabe much, you won't have Barbarino much, how do you rescue it? Or, do you? Vote for more than 1 if you want; first choice can be added in with another if, say, you would eliminate Beau but keep Horshack's story the same.

You might choose the graduation 1-hour thing, but remember, that could also be done at the end of a season 4. Personally, I think the show should have concluded with a "where are they now" retrospective, 5-10 years later. And, the last scene should have been the V.P. bringing the new teacher in to meet his new students, and it should have been one of the Sweathogs. Just as Mr. Kotter made good and came back to teach, so too would one of his Sweathogs, with the others in other jobs.

Edit: i dont' recall for sure, it's been 30 years, but I think WBK was on ABC. I know Dukes was meant as a half year replacement only at first, but, they did need ratings, and the concept of a still in the chemistry lab is just making me giggle. :-)

First of all, I'd have Kotter take a job at a community college and be able to afford a house. Then i'd have the sweathogs graduate and wind up at the same college as Kotter, they would take his class. Also, they would have to take part time jobs to pay for their education so that introduce some new characters.

Another idea would be them attending a trade school, that would be realistic but not as funny as them going to college.

That's probably the best set-up, though I wouldn't have them all taking his class. In addition, they would all have to be on their own.

That's a good point. Maybe have a couple of the guys taking the course.
Also I forgot to include that I would definitely eliminate Beau and also Mary Johnson. Instead, Carvelli and Murray would gradually be accepted as Sweathogs.
