There is a video on the linked page Tonight, Massachusetts State Police have an arrest warrant out for 54-year-old Robert R. Burno, Jr. of West Springfield and Ware. He's wanted for the July 21st attempted abduction of a 20-year-old woman jogging along Little Alum Rd in Brimfield. Police cannot find Mr. Burno. But he does bear a striking resemblance to the man Magi Bish saw in the parking lot next to Comins Pond the day before her daughter, Molly Bish, was abducted. I'm sure you remember the sketches of the man Magi saw staring at her as she dropped Molly off at her lifeguard job. Molly's killer has never been found. And that mystery man has never been identified. And now this. Robert Burno is accused of using his 1989 black Plymouth Horizon to run a woman off the road as she was jogging. State Police say he drove by the victim as she jogged several times at a very slow speed, and then tried to force her against the guardrail with her car. Again, this happened in Brimfield. It's about seven miles away from Comins Pond in Warren where Molly was taken. I showed Burno's picture to Magi Bish tonight. She thinks he bears a very strong resemblance to the man she saw seven years ago. Magi said she can't be 100 percent sure it's the same guy. But she said the similarities are strong enough that she believes MA State Police should take a long hard look at Burno. Tonight a spokesman for the Worcester County DA told me investigators are aware of the resemblance, and are looking into it. A week after the Brimfield attempted abduction, there was another attempted abduction in Charlton. In that case, a man tried to drag a 39 year old woman out of her car. The victim hit the man with a rock and injured the man. The suspect in that case is described as being between 40 and 50 years old. He was driving a black car. Charlton is close to both Brimfield and Warren. Right now Burno is wanted only for the Brimfield case. If you have seen Robert R. Burno Jr, please contact MA State Police at the Sturbridge Barracks at 508. 347.3352. Check out my story to see if you think there is a resemblance between Burno and the man Magi Bish saw in 2000. |
