Default Goof at the end of National Lampoon's Vacation?

I never thought about this until tonight but toward the end when Clark forces the security guard to come with him and his family while they were riding on the rides, who in the hell was OPERATING these since the Park was EMPTY?-lol

I mean how did Clark and his family get on the roller coaster if no one was in the park to control the rides??

GOOF???

Good catch Solomon! I never thought of it before either. I wonder how they got them to run without somebody controlling them.

That park is actually Magic Mountain ala Six Flags in Valencia, California. Abt 45 mins. from where I live. The rides must be turned on by someone, but once it is turned on, it is automatic. Didn't John Candy's character turn on the ride? If so, then there is no need for one to stand there while the ride is in motion. They only need one there to make sure the ride runs smoothly and it makes it to its final destination.

But how could the John Candy character turn on the roller coaster and ride it at the same time??-lol Same question goes for all the other rides, like the BOAT-lol It's not way to get on the Boat and turn it on at the same time

That's why I asked, did he turn on the ride THEN jumped on the ride? That could explain it. I haven't seen that movie in a long time, so I don't know the finest details of it, I just know the family and him are going from ride to ride.

Ok I just watched it again and the griswolds and the guard was seen just getting on the roller coaster. Once they were seated the roller coaster just started too move. So the guard was never seen turning anything on-lol

The only way I can explain is that it was a GOOF by the directors/producers. Even though one of them was the operator of the roller coaster-lol
